  • Phil is a fantastic teacher. He makes sure everything is understood clearly and is very skilled in breaking everything down so its easy to learn. He is also more than happy to teach all the genres of guitar music that I've thrown at him! On top of that, he is a lovely guy. Highly recommended!

  • I've had the pleasure of Phil's guitar teaching for a couple of years and would highly recommend him. As an adult learner looking to improve my rudimentary technique he has proved ideal. His approach to teaching is patient, flexible and accessible. I have particularly appreciated being able to suggest my own music to learn or areas for improvement but Phil is so knowledgeable that his suggestions have helped me to develop no end.

  • Phil is a fantastic teacher, he puts ideas across in an easy to understand way and builds your confidence with the guitar. We’ve covered styles from finger style to electric lead and lots in between. Phil embraces all of your interests while bringing new suggestions to your playing. Phil’s a really friendly teacher and I always look forward to the next lesson.

  • Having an on/off relationship with playing guitar in my youth, it was vital to me that once I had decided to return in my late 20s, that I found a teacher who would not only provide a thorough and effective structure to my learning, but also support me and ensure I endured. Phil did all of that, and more! A truly natural teacher who is always able to answer my annoying questions and cares for his students learning above and beyond the norm.

  • Phil is the best guitar teacher I’ve come across and I continue to thoroughly enjoy and look forward to my lessons (2 years so far).
