The course begins with the fundamentals of Serial communication, teaching you how to establish bidirectional communication between Raspberry Pi and Arduino. You will learn how to build the Arduino circuit for the project, step by step, and control Arduino components from Raspberry Pi, leveraging the strengths of both boards. The course also covers advanced functionalities of Raspberry Pi, including working with Pi Camera and creating a Telegram Bot using Python 3. You will learn how to integrate the camera with Arduino and send commands to Arduino from a Telegram chat, enabling remote control of your projects. The course includes practical hands-on activities, including a final project that involves building a complete Intercom system using Serial communication, Telegram Bot, Pi Camera, and more. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and skills to create your own innovative projects, unlocking the full potential of Raspberry Pi and Arduino.

Audience

This course is intended for creators of Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi who wish to combine the two boards for more exciting and challenging projects, or for anybody interested in developing serious robotics or home automation projects using Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

As we won't cover the fundamentals of either Python or C++ programming, this course is not suitable for total beginners. Having a solid understanding of both Arduino and Raspberry Pi will definitely help you get started; however, you don't need to be an expert.

Approach

This course is entirely hands-on; in addition to building a full communication protocol together, we will also practice designing step-by-step. We will also cover some tips on how to plan and organize your upcoming tasks so you may begin them with confidence and know what must be done when and how.

For this course, we will need an Arduino board, Raspberry Pi board, and a few hardware components such as Serial, Telegram Bot, Pi Camera, and more.
