Better Lives Workshop: Managing Expectations Around Meeting New People & Dating

Nice 2 Meet Ya is a charity based in Hertfordshire. We are the first dedicated friendship and relationship matching group of its kind in the county for adults who have a learning disability or who are neurodiverse.

Our aim is to help alleviate the feelings of isolation and loneliness, and to provide a safe space to meet new people and make meaningful connections.

This is a relaxed and informal workshop for N2MY registered members on managing expectations around meeting new people and dating led by our lovely friends at Pioneer Approaches.

A limited number of non-member spaces are also available for this workshop to attend also. If you are unable to book a non member ticket this time, you can email us at hello@nice2meetya.co.uk to register your interest in joining another open session.

Topics will include...

Looking at how we can manage our own expectations around meeting new people and dating.

Thinking about the qualities we might want in a friend or a life partner, and qualities that they might like us to have.

Looking at how our own level of confidence and self-esteem might impact us (and our success) when dating.

Playing communication games and looking at ways of having easier and more comfortable conversations with others.

Exploring the idea of sensory regulating, particularly sensory things that might make us feel more or less relaxed, and how we can incorporate more of the things that make us feel relaxed into our lives.

If you have previously joined one of our Better Lives workshops - there will be some new content and ideas to explore :)

There will be plenty of breaks throughout the session and we will stop for a lunch break.

Please bring along a packed lunch or snacks with you. N2MY will provide drinks throughout the session but you will need to arrange your own lunch for this workshop.
