  • I am only a beginner in this institute, however I am no stranger to martial arts clubs in general. I have had great fun attending the classes here. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming and good fun to chat to and train with. The "sensei" of the class, Stephen Byrne is a joy to learn from and a very nice guy all round. I would highly recommend checking out this club and maybe even coming to check it out

  • Been training about a year and a half now, and I never want to miss a session! It really is a great club with great people!!! The club has grown massively since I started and i think it’s fair to say I’ve gained a lot more friends in the process I would always recommend this club to anyone looking for a new hobbie, if their just looking for fitness (gym can get abit boring) or if they’re looking to compete! It’s for everyone, and there is now a kids class too which is becoming a success 5 s...

  • I was really nervous when I joined a year ago but following a really genuine welcome from everyone, it didn't take long to fit in. I've grown massively in self confidence and gained some amazing friends in the process. All inclusive club whose instructors provide clear technique break down to ensure no one gets left behind. Opportunity to meet lots of new faces, let off a bit of steam and join a community of great people!

  • I attended the ‘Women’s self defence’ course here, wanting to gain knowledge in how to defend myself, and loved it so much, I came back to go to the classes regularly. I have not only gained new skills, but friends in the process. The club itself is the most welcoming and friendly place, any fears go out the door as soon as you are on the mats. Now, myself, my partner and my 8 year old are regularly going and I would recommend Newbury BJJ to anyone wanting to see what jiujitsu is about. St...
