  • A little bit dissaponting. Such a beatiful open space, perfect conditions for social distancing. Yet the managment chose to close the whole upper floor and minimise the space avalaible to customers. Not sure where the logic is. Whisky from a plastic cup, because dishwasher was broken, very limited food options (and we weren't looking for anything fancy..) Other places are dealing with covid much better...very friendly staff though, so not all bad after all!

  • So great to have Mareel open again. Always was my favourite place to go for a decaff cappuccino or 2 and to read. Their social distancing and COVID contact tracing measures are first class. I reccomend Mareel to everyone.

  • Excellent venue, and well priced. Interesting things on quite frequently. Very good cafe and bar downstairs and don't forget there is a bar upstairs as well. Nicely thought out as well, the toilets have hand towels instead of dryers, so it's quiet for people watching stuff.

  • Went to see The Aeronauts on Screen 1. Great, big screen and picture, comfortable seats and good facilities. The sound was excellent, great fidelity from the front but clearly with this movie, at least, the surround was very muted as rarely audible with no directionality - more like old Pro Logic than modern Atmos! Quite pricey ticket and over the top £2.50ish for soggy and bland shortbread in the cafe. As a result not awarding five stars but for sure I'll return to this screen but probably n...

  • An excellent place to be when in Shetland! Excellent food, cocktails and atmosphere. The cinema is great, but due to the two screens, films aren't always on at the best of times and do not always fit in with public transport. I have not yet experienced the live music there, but I have been advised by the locals that it is not to be missed - better get on it!
