Makins Fishery

A big thank you to Makins Fishery our group all had a great weekend away. We were a bit misinformed about a match taking place on the lake near camp site , but overall a great day out fishing and camping with friends eating good food . Hope to see you next year .

This is one of the best places to fish in my humble opinion. It has new owners and is under a bit of construction, but the staff are awesome and friendly, you have some 16 lakes and 3 phases to fish on. Some big carp up to and over 30lb can be caught. The area is lovely, the scenery is beautiful and the lakes are well maintained. I have fished many places but love Makins the most. You will not be disappointed when you come here. So bring your A game and expect a great time and lots of fish. Y...

This has been my local Fishery for the past 12 months and other than can be very busy in the summer months Inc loads of matches across all 3 phases , so check there website for matches before you go and for the carpers lake 1 & 2 can be fully booked if your planning on a night session so pre book in advance by going to their website. OverAll excellent Fishery with plenty of big roach, perch skimmers and bream and stuffed with carp on all lakes. I have had bags near to 300lb just pleasure fish...

This place was lovely for a couple nights getaway! The lodge looked so much better in person than on Airbnb. The hot tub was even better!! Only a few niggles in that there wasn't any basic welcome package (e.g. milk, coffee, tea), some of the mugs were still a bit dirty and there was still some hair in the bathroom. But was not the end of the world! Overall - great night stay away with the girls!

Nice place. Camp site was a bit not nice but for 10 pounds per night was ok. Breakfast at the cafe at 6 pounds was microwaved so did not eat it. The lakes are beautiful
