  • I've been training at Low Tide for almost 2 years now. I had never trained BJJ before (or any other martial art), and was a bit scared of getting injured. Not only I got immediately hooked by it, but also felt always very safe and welcomed. It can be intimidating to be a woman training BJJ, and I'm glad I found a gym were I feel included at all times. Si is an amazing coach and I really appreciate him taking the time to include more women in this wonderful sport. If in doubt, just give it a try!

  • I was at Low Tide for about 6 months before a flat change had me looking to find a closer club to where I stay. Si and all the guys that run it are extremely knowledgeable and teach jiu jitsu in a fun and interactive style, based around drills and then live sparring at the end to reinforce what you’ve learned in that session. The club owner, Si, is really friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. The instructors: Max, Ronan and Marcus are also fantastic. All round brilliant club.

The life sparring at the end of each teaching session is fun and safe, which to me is very important. I would highly recommend this club to anyone who is looking to learn a ma...

  • I've been training with black belt instructor Simon Tutton since he opened his gym in Edinburgh. The gym itself is light, clean and airy. It's a great space to train in. Si's instruction is detailed and focused. Breaking down each technique into a series of easily understood techniques. He frequently outlines options from each position for beginners and more advanced players. Si is very welcoming to all participants, this ethos is reflected by his students- everyone is friendly and respectfu...
