Dr Simon Field, principal consultant at Lefert Consulting, brings over 35 years of experience creating and deploying technology for business benefit. A qualified IT and insurance professional, he led a team of computer scientists creating award-winning e-business technologies at IBM’s Zurich Research Laboratory from 1996 until 2002, where he also oversaw IBM’s European Insurance Research Center. Simon is an authority on enterprise architecture, and has served as CTO of the UK’s Office for National Statistics, Chief Architect at Emirates Group in Dubai, and interim Head of Architecture at Admiral Group, the UK’s leading auto insurer. Most recently, he has been Principal Architect for the Bank of England. He spent five years as a Senior Executive Partner at Gartner, advising business and IT leaders across the Gulf region. His clients included the governments of Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, major banks and insurers, international universities and some of the world’s largest oil and gas companies.
