In the US alone, it has been estimated that the cost of unnecessary meetings and wasted time is over $35 billion!
Many executives feel overwhelmed by meetings, and no wonder: On average, they spend nearly 23 hours a week in them, up from less than 10 hours in the 1960s. Moreover, the meetings are often poorly timed, badly run, or both. Quote from Harvard Revue 2017.
Our Managing Meetings workshop looks at the common reasons for meetings that give some attendees little or no value. It identifies the efficiency killers and works to understand what causes each issue and what possible solutions we can come up with to discuss and plan to experiment with back in the workplace.
During the day, we invite every member to play a crucial role, conduct a meeting, and analyse the short meeting. Once we have done this, we collaboratively plan the next version of the meeting and use some of the tools we incorporate into the day to feel the impact and reap the benefits. Your input is invaluable as we do not work in your environment.
By following the meeting structure and guidelines we provide, you will not only enjoy efficient and effective meetings, but also see a significant boost in productivity and a reduction in unnecessary meeting time. The benefits are real and tangible.
Who? - This is generally for Leaders and Managers so they can pass on the skills and tools to ensure their direct reports learn how to manage an efficient and effective meeting.
Why? Meetings are expensive. You only have to take a weekly meeting you attend, calculate the time by each person's hourly pay, and then sit down to recover.
Inefficient meetings waste time and money and frequently annoy people. They can also badly affect their productivity, and then they get told off for not being more productive!
Help your people be more efficient in meetings. Get what’s required out of each one and stop the ones that are not required at all.
When you consider the content we deliver, we are sure you will understand why we always prefer to deliver our workshops, courses and programmes face-to-face.
Face-to-face workshops and courses can be held at a location of your choice or, if you wish, a central UK location, such as the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, located directly across from the Birmingham New Street train station.
We can deliver our workshops, courses and programmes online, although this will mean splitting elements into manageable learning events to suit the online environment.
