Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre & Lakeview Café

Great place for a walk around the lake and beside the River Blackwater. There's a cafe on site, so you sit and enjoy the views across the lake and watch the ducks, geese and swans.

I first visited Horseshoe Lake in August 2019 while training for the Windermere One Way; visiting this picturesque lake for another swim was a pleasure. Lovely place for dog walks. Beautiful natural surroundings. Lovely lake complete with birds and a very nice cafe with inside and outside searing Dog friendly. A great place odour doorstep.

Love the cafe, been here many times, lovely food and location however inconsistent with its opening times, online it says the hours were updated by the place not long ago so should be accurate but arrived here an hour ahead of listed closing time but is closed, I was not alone in expecting it to be open with a handful of others commenting on their surprise that is is closed, very disappointing and a loss of custom for them.

Visited this place during the open day and had amazing time with fiends and family. There is onsite free parking, serene view of lake and walk around the lake. We booked couple of activities and had great fun. Staff was amazingly friendly and prompt to response. We also enjoyed the coffee ☕️ at the on-site cafe.
