Baba Batuk Nathji, the Founder of Gurukul Academy was an Alumnus of the famous 'Doon School' Dehradun and a highly well read person. He felt the urge to open a similar Public School, which would provide the best of the Modern Education coupled with a strong value system. He wanted each child passing out of the portals of this school to be a living example of a perfect citizen of the Country. He felt that children should be empowered with positive thinking from early childhood. Hence, he rightly chose the Motto "Empowerment Through Education". He was a great visionary, a guiding light and mentor for not only his students but even the staff of Gurukul as he believed that this was his large family, with him as the Head of the family. He was extremely fond of children. Under his spiritual care and guidance the school shot to fame within a short span, with high academic results and plenty of achievements to be proud off. The School is now recognized amongst the top 10 Schools of Lucknow.
