  • Travelled 100 mile to find the fisheries closed after booking on. Phyllis never rang or text to explain the lakes are shut her excuse was environment agency told her to shut even the cudmore was still open. When my partner rang Phyllis to ask why we was not made aware of this she started shouting and swearing down the phone to my partner. This place or owner does not warrant one star place should stay shut until suitable owners are found

  • Firstly, for those who have an ounce of banter in them, you’ll find that Phyllis is a lovely lady so don’t be put off by the comments made by over sensitive stuck up people. Phyllis is just doing her job and gets so much grief from “the youth of today” My girlfriend and I had a great time, we caught fish, had good banter with others and were asked by Phyllis if we needed anything bringing from the shops! Keith (fishing bailiff) is a top man too, fishing with his family / kids offered advice ...

  • Had a great day in a lovely area. I'm disabled with acquired brain injuries and a friend took me there. We were able to park right behind the peg with toilets nearby. Caught two good-sized carp (common 41b and mirror (7lb 6oz!) The weather was great and an added bonus was a visit from the ice-cream van!! Will defo be going back there.

  • The worst bailiff I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. If you want a what should be a pleasurable days fishing ruined? Then go to gorsty hall and meet phyllis, the rudest, interfering bailiff you'll ever meet. We definitely won't be going back, purely down to this womans attitude and behaviour. She clearly has an authority problem, that is costing the fishery a fortune in non returning anglers, due to her. I've read the other reviews, so at least I know it's not just me and my partne...

  • I fish here regularly. For me it's a nice little local venue. Bailiffs are friendly and helpful. However. No maintained dip bins for nets etc. Otherwise. Great. 15/6/21. As an addition to my earlier review. Bins are now filled with appropriate dip solution. Some rules have changed. But still a nice water. Weekends can be busy though.
