Totally immersed in the Welsh language, apart from, asking the meaning of some Welsh words or vice versa. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for Marcus, not only helping people with their Welsh, taking or driving us around but also doing a lot of the cooking! Kept busy throughout, doing different things and visiting various places. I would definitely recommend a stay in Garth Newydd to anyone who wishes to gain confidence and improve their Welsh language skills.

I stayed here October 2022, what a unique experience. I was nervous at first, but there was no need to be. I think the fact that the owner Marcus has learned Welsh himself gives him a level of understanding of what learners need. The house is comfortable, the rooms were single and spacious. I've just returned from another great weekend at Garth Newydd in Llanbedr (Lampeter), this time with the theme of walking along the beautiful West Wales coast. I stayed in Garth Newydd twice last year after sitting my Sylfaen exam. Each time I left feeling more confident with speaking Cymraeg. I booked two more weekends this year to help me improve my conversational Cymraeg prior to me sitting my Canolradd exam in June. Best weekend yet with Marcus and Nia. Packed with activities, opportunities to speak Welsh with first language speakers and a lot of fun too. Very relaxed atmosphere, comfortable accommodation and good food. Will be going back later in the year. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at Garth Newydd. Marcus and Nia made everyone feel so welcome and the activities they’d planned were great. The weekend definitely built my confidence and I look forward to going again to develop my spoken Welsh further. Would definitely recommend!
