Footlight Performance Academy

My daughter has been dancing at Footlight for 13 years now, she started as a shy 4 year old and has grown into a confident young lady who adores everything about the school, especially the great friends she has made and the caring teachers. She is proud to be a teaching assistant and loves helping the younger pupils to develop. I am so glad we chose Footlight it has been an integral part of her childhood and we have both made friends for life x

So today I took my 6year old daughter to her very first Tap and Modern dance exam! If you'd have told me that when she first started over a year ago as a really quiet, shy, little girl I wouldn't have believed you! Footlight Performance Academy welcomed us with open arms and paid special attention to my daughter in her first class to make her feel extra special as she was super nervous.. within a few minutes she was joining in and when the class finished she came out beaming from ear to ear!...

My girls were feeling very unsettled after our move back to the UK from overseas and then several moves within the UK, but they both feel so happy, comfortable and settled at Footlight. They've started to make friends and look forward to their ballet class with Nina who is so nurturing. Miraculously Nina has managed to prepare my eldest for an exam after just 1 term! Nina...I wish you offered adult ballet classes too!

When we chose your dance school I just wanted my girls to have professional instruction but what we have got is so much more. We have professional instruction but also a dance teacher who holds my daughters hand or gives her a cuddle if she's feeling nervous and instinctively knows my child well enough to encourage her to take the next step with her dancing.
