As a relatively young golfer,my memories of the matches were clear.The best player I played against was Richard Hussey,who was a member of West Essex.In a six year time spell,starting in May of 1986,the County organisers were very encouraging to the golfers and families.Of the courses chosen in Essex,Orsett was the best one in 1989.Some of the players had ideas of being professionals maybe from the possitive impact of the 1985 Ryder Cup success.The favoured ball of that time was a Titleist ba...
