Ellis Academy Of Self Defence

We took our 3 year old to start a week after his 3rd birthday. The staff are extremely friendly and clearly experienced. The owner is brilliant and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. We are hoping this will be the beginning of a long nice journey for our young son. Would highly recommend.

Since joining back in 2015, Ellis Academy has given our children a solid foundation in self defence and a great structure and fun to their week!. The last few years have been extremely challenging for all of us but Ellis Academy have been there throughout - supportive, adapting and evolving - keeping the momentum going - being there - and consistent. A good place to be.

My oldest child has been attending classes for the last 6 years, and his younger brother for the last 3. They absolutely love it, it has given them lots of fun but also let's them focus their energy. These classes have helped their attention, patience and social skills. The staff are great at engaging the children and encouraging them to push themselves. I highly recommend the Ellis Academy to everyone.

I was looking for a friendly, child focussed gym for my 8 year old son to start martial arts. I was impressed by the website so decided to try a taster session. I was not disappointed. Their welcoming and relaxed manor both with the children and parents was just what my son needed. The instructors are knowledgeable and patient with the kids with a perfect mix of discipline and fun. A great location, with friendly people and very knowledgeable instructors who go the extra mile to help you progress. The whole experience is hard work and great fun in equal measures and I really look forward to the training sessions. It really ruins my day if I miss a class!
