Cricklade House Hotel

Fantastic service, particularly at the reception. We spent one night there and few minutes following check-in we were served complimentary G&T and brownies in our room, nice touch! We had dinner there and the food was really nice.

Room 34 has great views, as does the pool, restaurant and bar. The pool, steam room and sauna and the compact gym were clean and well maintained. Great food and i love that they serve local meat, eggs and butter for breakfast.

Clean tidy modern room. High quality tasty food in the restaurant. Pool, steam room and sauna was glorious. Small but well equipped gym. Highly recommended.

I have to say this wasn't a great experience staying here. From the moment we checked in, it all seemed a bit farcical. Presenting my card to to pay upfront for the room I was told my card wasn't valid (which it was) and i needed to present another. There was no help from the young man on the reception and was quite unfriendly. Our room was freezing upon entering, and in need of a very big decoration too. The rooms were quite outdated (no outlets near the bed, plastic cups for water, rather dirty carpeting and bedding was a little dirty) Rooms needed an upgrade for sure and a good deep cleaning. However, the staff was super friendly, restaurant food was not too bad, and the bar/lounge area was comforting. I guess considering it’s location, the hotel was not terrible. Spa and pool were a nice addition.
