Nurturing Minds Mindfulness

About Annalise Jones, Founder of Nurturing Minds I created Nurturing Minds from a passionate belief that all children should be provided with the tools to look after their own Mental Health in a positive and healthy way from as young as possible. I believe that this is the key to preventing the World's Mental Health crisis from becoming anymore severe. The harsh reality of today's society shows that 1 in 6 children and young people aged between 5-16 have a diagnosable Mental Health problem, whilst 70% of these children and young people are not getting the appropriate interventions that they need at an early age (ONS, 2020). The truth is that there isn't enough services to teach our children what they need to know about their Minds and how to look after them. So I made it my mission to do just that! Nurturing Minds uses Creative Mindfulness techniques to teach children, and their parents, about their emotions, feelings and behaviours and how these all link together to form our mind. The aim of this is to create a toolbox of resources that children and parents can access at any time in their lives. These experiences of Mindfulness will help support healthy brain development and will give children and their parents a chance to actively support their emotional regulation, which will in turn, promote positive Mental Health and Well-being. Using my knowledge of child development from my degree in Early Childhood Studies, as well as my experience working with children and families of all ages, I have developed an inclusive and welcoming environment for people to learn about their minds and to help them feel the benefits of Mindfulness on their own lives, just like I have felt it on mine.

Meeting the body’s need for energy and nutrients is essential for good health. Taking insufficient or equally importantly excess nutrients for a prolonged period of time can adversely affect our health, causing ailments such as colds, head or tummy aches, feeling lethargic and can lead to more serious illnesses and diseases. We know “We are what we eat”. However, it is a truer statement to say “We are what we absorb!”. Therefore, viewing nutrition in a holistic way, we can promote our internal environment to absorb and expel toxins efficiently and can help to maintain healthy bodies and well-being. I will work with you to understand your current nutritional regimen: What you eat When you eat How you eat And why you eat what you do I can then create a tailored nutritional programme that works with your body’s needs and lifestyle. Nutrition with Antonietta B One aspect that is often not included in a nutritional plan is the techniques that support the detoxification process. The natural nutrition techniques I use have been tried and tested for centuries across many cultures. They not only support the digestive system to work more efficiently, but also aid the detoxification process. This means that nutritional changes within the body have a clear root of elimination. I have been able to help my clients with a variety of health concerns using my nutritional process helping to alleviate digestive issues, menopausal symptoms, lack of energy, pain, skin concerns or just generally feeling out of balance.

Stephen, born with a disability himself, was only too aware of the many barriers that can exist for so many groups within society, which make participating in mainstream activities more difficult. Stephen is hugely passionate about championing inclusivity and was driven to create opportunities for everyone, supporting those who need help the most. He wanted to provide opportunities to support individuals and families from all walks of life, focusing on those who may face additional challenges. Stephen set up The Mason Foundation to remove barriers, provide opportunities to build lasting friendships, and celebrate inclusivity. His mission is centered around reducing inequalities and helping everyone live happy, healthy, active, and fulfilled lives. The first initiative launched by the Foundation was The Mason Mile – locally centred, community-based miles, where everyone can come together to do 15 minutes of activity, doing #TheirMileTheirWay, regardless of ability or disability. This has continued to evolve and now includes additional programmes such as The Family Mile and The Community Mile. In 2021, following the devastating impact of the pandemic, the global economy was struggling with a shortage of workers for entry-level roles. The Mason Foundation, through an existing partnership with The Oaks Specialist College, was also very aware of the challenges facing young people with learning disabilities to successfully secure and maintain appropriate employment, specifically in entry-level roles. It felt like there was a huge disconnect. This led to the development of Propel, a programme set up to overcome barriers and support young people with learning disabilities into work.
