I guess I’m just a “singing nerd” at the end of the day! I love singing, I love listening to other people sing and I love it when people start to truly express themselves through their singing voices with power, presence and confidence. I’ve been singing all my life. I started out singing in a very good, local High Anglican church choir at the age of 7 that exposed me to harmony and counterpoint, Requiems and Latin - all whilst wearing robes and a frilly ruff! I managed to obtain my Bishops’ Chorister Award just before my voice broke, before moving to the Alto and then finally the Tenor sections of the choir. At this stage my ear was drifting away from classical choral singing and more towards Soul, RnB and Gospel (thanks Whoopi Goldberg and Sister Act!) As a Gospel Singer, I sang with the Liverpool Love & Joy Gospel Choir for many years, touring all over the country from small town halls to football stadia - I had truly fallen in love with this very expressive and emotive art form, and eventually set up Sanctified Gospel Choir who went on to win a Gospel Entertainment & Music (GEM) Award in 2005. I managed to gain a place to study music at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) which was set up by former-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, and graduated with honours in 2003. During my time studying at LIPA, I had the opportunity to sing and perform with a vast array of talented artists and performers and fell into providing backing vocals for a number of different main-stream artists of the time. Having discovered over time that I really enjoyed singing backing vocals, was happier with my back to an audience directing as opposed to standing in the spotlight, it was no surprise to me that I ended up gravitating towards teaching singing as a side hustle. And that’s what it was, a side hustle, I had no clue what I was doing and that’s when I fortunately discovered the Speech Level Singing methodology or SLS. Upon completion of my initial SLS training, I was then also invited to Lecture in Vocals at LIPA and taught there for 12 years in total, teaching one-to-one and group singing classes to the students on the Music, Acting and Dance degree and foundation level courses. After achieving Level 3 status within the SLS organisation, I wanted to broaden out my knowledge of vocal pedagogy, vocal harmonics and acoustics, and along with a number of other teachers from around the world came together under the guidance of Dave Stroud to form what is now known as Vocology in Practice or ViP. Shortly after helping to found ViP, where I served as Education Director for a year, I obtained my MA in Music from the University of Salford, where I focussed my studies on the Psychology of Performance and the condition, "Adophobia" (literally the Fear of Singing), on which I wrote extensively for my thesis. I work hard to keep myself informed on the latest pedagogical research and developments within in the world of vocal health and how to teach to ensure that I can provide the very best for my clients. I’ve also recently started training in Laryngeal Massage so that I can bring this highly beneficial manual therapy to the my clients. Highlights of my career to date include being a Lecturer in Singing at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and helping to establish and teach on the singing program on the BA(hons) in Musical Theatre at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. I have also been fortunate to train voices at Rare Studios in Liverpool. I arranged and directed the backing choir on the 2012 UK Christmas No.1 song "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" on behalf of the Justice Collective, for which I was awarded a Gold Disc. Aside from my teaching studio, I am the choral director for the Liverpool Community Choir, training the lead voices for the Birkenhead Operatic Society and have recently started training voices for the Pro Vocal Artist artist development program. Over the last ten years or so, my career has taken me down the path of teacher training and I am fortunate to train teachers for two organisations; BAST (Be A Singing Teacher), where I am one of only 5 teacher trainers in the world, and MVT (Modern Vocal Training), the latter of which I serve as an Educational Director. I absolutely love training new teachers; I find it to be really invigorating, plus it keeps me accountable and makes sure that I’m keeping abreast of the latest developments in my field.

We are a cookery school for disabled adults 18 plus. At StedyChefs we teach all about the joy and fun to be had whilst cooking ,not only helping improve life skills but building self confidence and making friends along the way. Our whole building is covered in fun graffiti, our chefs wear a full uniform and different coloured bandanas making their time here as fun as possible. We also teach other activities such as art and music, the Beatles actually played in our building in 1961. Our chefs cook everything from scratch and not only this, they grow their own vegetables in our outside space as well as doing outside cooking in warmer months. Our chefs do food related trips also once every six weeks. Some of our chefs volunteer and in the past have worked in local cafes and football stadiums. Our youngest student is 18 and our eldest is 63 years old. The food our chefs create on a daily basis can only be described as phenomenal. We are also part of the International Cookery School Association (School Of Excellence) We also teach our students health and safety in the kitchen. We recently had Merseyside Fire Brigade in our centre to deliver a lesson on hazards that may occur in a kitchen and how to handle them safely. Merseyside Police have also attended our centre to deliver on a lesson on how to stay safe when using the internet. In January of this year, seven of our students gained their Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene In The Kitchen qualification. It took us over a year of visually and verbally training our students in preparation for their test. As they passed, they are now able to legally work in a professional kitchen environment. One of the students is now actively looking for paid work in the catering sector using his newly acquired qualification. We have also partnered with The Trussell Trust and are now running a food bank from or building with the help of our wonderful students.

My motivation for founding The Complete Approach was to make a positive impact on my clients' lives by offering a holistic approach to health and wellness. Through my extensive training in Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mindfulness, Life Coaching, Holistic Nutrition, and Beyond Quantum Healing, I am equipped to address all aspects of a person's health. I firmly believe in the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and soul, and that maintaining balance in these areas is essential for overall well-being. Unlike practitioners who focus solely on one aspect of health, I adopt a comprehensive approach to improve my clients' happiness and well-being. To further this mission, I have developed a range of online courses and resource products designed to make healing accessible to everyone. The journey to healing is unique for each individual, whether you have experienced significant trauma, feel stuck in life, or are uncertain about the root of your discomfort. Therapy can be a powerful solution. Life is a precious gift, and I find joy in partnering with my clients to help them rediscover its beauty.

I grew up in a little market town in the East Midlands, happily in awe of the magic buzzing beneath the tapestry of existence in the countryside surrounding me, making childhood potions from crushed herbs and flowers and sneaking home Esoteric books to read from the library. At 18, I grew restless with a curiosity about the world and quit college to save up, travel, and spend time learning from the hidden tribes and global communities I had read so much about. My travels expanded my understanding around magic and how ritual had manifested in different indigenous cultures beyond our Celtic origins. Here, I began my journey training to become a Reiki healer (and eventually teacher), with a personal earth mission to also contribute as much healing, light and joy to our planet as possible. By my twenties I had returned home, moved to the city and anchored myself back into a decade of education. I gained a PGCE qualification as a secondary school art teacher and finished a University Degree; a BA Honours in Creative Therapies where I focused my dissertation on the healing power of Creative Ritual and Art in Psychotherapy. Following this, I worked for 5 years as a Creative Therapist as part of an Intensive intervention Team for Children in Social Care, whilst also founding and managing London's Activist Art group 'The People's Tribe' to try and promote positive change in society with creativity (and of course, rebellion!) As I approached my thirties, I began to delve deep into my own shadow work and healing, which lead me to explore the healing potential of plant medicines, shamanic rituals and tincture making. One summer, I softened, decided it was time to return back to the countryside and challenged myself to set off at sunset for an overnight pilgrimage. I mapped out the leylines and followed them on foot, walking 12 hours by myself through the night, singing songs to the stars and arrived at sunrise on the mystical lands of Glastonbury for the first time, where I began my training in Celtic Shamanism.... and never left! I'm humbled to live a harmonious and gentle life here upon the mystical lands of Avalon. From this sacred motherland, I forage and make flower tincture medicines from the earth and sculpt personalised wands from the fallen branches of the ancient orchards. More than anything, I love to compassionately hold space for others walking the sacred path of initiation or undertaking healing/ shadow work. (We're at a very interesting moment in history where nothing is more important than this!) I do this using therapy, ritual, ceremony, playfulness and creativity to help alchemise and empower individuals to step into the highest version of themselves and it brings me so much joy to see the light returning, one by one, to the beautiful tribe we know as the human race. Let's rise together and remember who we really are as we make the journey back home to ourselves!

As women navigating life in this world, we have a multiple of roles to fill. We work, we parent, we listen, we teach, we work more (whether within or outside our homes), we help, we struggle, we survive. We often find ourselves stretched too thin, overworked, overstressed, overwhelmed and often unfulfilled. We have been living in a world that belittles our natural talents, gifts and abilities, and has undermined our power at every turn. We are facing extreme and challenging times, and I do not think getting back to “normal” is a viable or a realistic pursuit. Instead, we must ask ourselves which parts of yesterday do we want to keep and bring with us? And how can we actively participate in creating what we want our today and our tomorrows to be? Fear directed my life for so long. Fear of not being good enough, smart enough, thin enough, fear of all the “enoughs”. I had a very loud inner critic which caused me years of vacillating between high levels of anxiety and numbing out. And after years of personal development work with the exact practices I now share with my coaching clients, I can say that fear and anxiety are in the back seat (or better yet, the trunk) and living in a beautiful state of joy, gratitude, compassion, wonder, and peace are in the driver’s seat of my life for almost two decades. And I want this for you too!

As a dance company we connect with our audience on a deeper level, offering an emotional experience that encourages community growth and acceptance. Motion X prides itself on offering a safe environment where artists can completely expose their true selves through dance and choreography. We utilize the creativity and individuality of our artists by providing opportunities for them to explore their concepts through movement. The variety of creative voices keeps our work consistently circulating fresh perspectives and ideas and aligns with our mission of bridging the gap between the real world and contemporary dance. Motion X Dance highly values dance education. Our passion for training young artists is prevalent in our workshops and intensives as we have developed programs that offer a springboard for dancers moving towards a professional career. Motion X Dance is a unique dance force in Washington DC, opening up new partnerships and connections in the surrounding community. Through outreach, collaboration, and education we hope to use dance as a way to bring joy to the widest audience possible. In doing so we will stay true to our mission, showcasing technical strength while generating innovation in the performing arts.

I’m a writer and teacher and I’ve been sharing my heart online since 2006. I’m the author of This I Know: Notes on Unraveling the Heart and my mission is to help people access their creative joy and nurture a deeper relationship with themselves. Words have been at the centre of my world for as long as I can remember. I started writing a diary aged 11 and grew not only a life-long journaling practice but also an unending curiosity about my place in the world. Studying photography at art school followed by a degree in journalism lead to me working as a journalist for many years, but the truth is my life, as I now know it, began in the spring of 2005 when the man I loved died very suddenly from a heart attack — everything I thought I knew about life changed in that instant. Walking through the fire of bereavement is how I truly came to inhabit every part of who I am, the shadows as well as the light. In 2006 I started writing a blog and being able to share my thoughts and feelings online was incredibly empowering, my way of getting back out there from the safety of my living room. Blogging helped reopen the door to my creativity, connecting me to other souls around the world as I found my way back to what was meaningful for me.

After years of working a corporate job in Canary Wharf London, I realised that there is a pressing need to change our relationship with the world of work. There is a need to slow down, to stop and allow ourselves just to be. to be light was inspired by my own mother, who was also a friend on my journey to find stillness, where I also found my sparks of creativity, sense of security and endless joys. My journey was a process that I could never have done alone. Through my daily practice of Kundalini yoga and meditation, I have found myself to build mental resilience, develop a deep inner joy, learn to live by my heart. Like my mother, I am not a guru nor a teacher, I am just an inspirer, a supporter and a friend. My goal is to inspire and help others to navigate their own self-discovery in the midst of the hustle bustle in life. I long to connect, to see, to know you as you are, wherever you are at. Through yoga, meditation, Aroma Point Therapy, sonic sound alchemy, it is my commitment to show up with the fullest of heart. Everyday, I invest time and energy into my own personal practice, to embody everything I’ve ever dreamed of for this world. So when we meet, the light is contagious. I founded to be light from my love for sharing.
