There are many excellent gyms within the world of kickboxing but only one can claim the unique flavour of Belfast's Prokick. The name 'Prokick' was established at the end of 1990 by Billy Murray, Ireland's most successful full-contact kickboxer, promoter and coach. Murray's tale, from bullied school boy to world champion, and now trainer of multiple world champions is so incredible…almost unbelievable! Billy Murray began his Martial Arts training in the mid 1970's and started training fighters at the start of the 1980’s in Tullycarnet Community Centre, at his first Ju-Jitsu club. Murray went on to open his first full-time Gym, Newtownards Martial Arts centre in Pound Street in 1985. He then moved to Switzerland in 1990 to enhance his kickboxing career. On his return, at the end of 1991, the Prokick gym, a fitness, self-defence and fight stable, was set-up in east Belfast. The spit and sawdust centre is now coming up to it’s 30th year, having been officially established in January 1993. Over the course of the last 30 years Prokick has certainly lived up to it’s reputation as being the ‘Home of Champions.’ Our fighters have performed at prestigious venues across the province. They have travelled to Europe, Asia and North America. We pride ourselves on helping the development of our sport and campaigning for global recognition.

For over 35 years, Hackney City Farm has been giving the local community the opportunity to experience farming right in the heart of the city. We offer children and adults the chance to get up close to a range of farmyard animals; see, smell and plant vegetables and other food plants; and learn new skills. As a city farm in London, we are dedicated to helping people learn about food, nature and the environment. Our unique setting inspires children and adults to participate in our courses, workshops and lessons and leave with new knowledge, friendships and inspiration. We receive about 3 school visits a week – school groups, like everyone else can visit for free! We offer specific workshops designed to take learning a step further, such as Growing Food, Habitats – Mini-beasts and Chicken and Egg. We are also home to a unique school for up to ten young people (age 13-17) who require a tailor-made approach to their education. Our curriculum is based around basic skills, practical and vocational learning, PHSE and one-to-one or group mentoring.

Making anything right now is a radical act in defiance of fear: making something however simple seeming – baking bread, making the bed; making art or a garden; a stiff drink or your mind up. It’s time to get creative and figure out how to keep our fingers busy, hearts full and souls satisfied. Time to roll sleeves up and get those hands dirty (as long as you wash ’em before and afterwards!) Finding ways to continue connections and sustain friendship feels so important, we’re glad that you’re a part of our community. Whatever comes next we have to make it together. Even if we can’t be with you here there are things that we’d like to share. There are tools at the workshop waiting for hands to use them. We’ll be glad to see shavehorses, benchhooks, chopping blocks, mallets and whittling tools loaned out to good homes, keeping folk crafting. We were so lucky to recieve a lot of wood before the doors closed, we’d love to see it go out to people who can use it. Let us know if you’d like a delivery of fresh green cherry, birch, whitebeam or oak. There are books in the library that could keep you busy learning something new over the next weeks and months. We’re working online too, hosting a shared space to chip away at whatever you feel like. Making a place to talk, weep, dance, laugh while we carve something beautiful together. Fridays are a good time to try, if someone is in the studio then you are virtually welcome to sit and have a cuppa, what’s on your mind?

Women’s Aid is the lead voluntary organisation in Northern Ireland addressing domestic abuse and providing services for women and children. The Women’s Aid movement in Northern Ireland began in 1975 and is made up of eight local Women’s Aid groups and Women’s Aid Federation. Each Women’s Aid group offers a range of specialist services to women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. They are all members of Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland. Bromley Rugby Football Club was founded in 1886 as Catford Bridge Football Club. At the present time, there are around 600 members, 400 of whom are minis and juniors, with the remaining members helping 3/4 senior teams play on a regular basis. The First XV play in the London South East 3 league, with the other sides playing in merit tables. The youth section has become one of the club’s most successful innovations over the years and is seen to be of special importance to the future of the club. A high proportion of our current First XV squad have graduated from the youth sides and this is a trend that is set to continue. The club insists upon quality RFU Certificated coaching at all levels and currently, sides are run at all mini and junior age groups. The Club is also a Community Amateur Sports Club.
