He holds a PhD in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Adelaide. He has held various Post-Doctoral and Senior Research positions at the University of Adelaide, examining geochemical and risk management processes for CO₂ storage, and worked for BP, London in 2008, in their CCS business unit, supporting BP as it developed international commercial scale CCS projects. He joined CO2CRC in 2012 and progressed through various roles including Storage Program Manager, Business Strategy Manager, and Senior Manager &ndash; Technology Development. He is accountable for planning, executing &amp; implementing decarbonisation technologies for intensive industries, with a particular focus towards applied storage technology demonstration. His work enables CO2CRC to translate innovative, user driven technologies from bench to field scale. In addition, he is the science lead for CO2CRC&rsquo;s latest Otway International Test Centre demonstration on storage optimisation (Otway Stage 4). He is Australia&rsquo;s Delegate for the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum, a Ministerial-level international climate change initiative. He holds a strong passion for developing and delivering pragmatic and sustainable technical solutions to reduce CO₂ emissions.Your second course instructor&nbsp;is a Senior Geophysicist with 20 years of international experience in petroleum and CCS industries. He received his Master&rsquo;s degree in Petroleum Geosciences at Imperial College, London and completed his PhD in Geophysics at Curtin University. He has worked for National Oil Companies in the Middle East, operators in SE Asia and directed an international consultancy in Australia for a decade prior to joining the global CCS leader CO2CRC. He has experience in seismic data acquisition, processing and static modelling of geological data in Australasia, South America and the Middle East. His research interests are the sealing potential of shales and innovative seismic techniques such as Fibre Optics.Your third course instructor&nbsp;is a Senior Reservoir Engineer with CO2CRC where he is currently undertakes reservoir modelling for Otway Stage 4 CO2&nbsp;injection experiments at the Otway International Test Centre. In addition to this, each learner will also gain valuable and potentially life saving skills whilst gaining their much valued UCAS points.

All geomechanical evaluations include four types of modelling assumptions, which will be systematically addressed in this training, namely:1. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Geometrical modelling assumption: Impact of structural styles on initial stress and stress redistribution due to operations2. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Formation (or constitutive) behaviour: Linear elastic and non-linear behaviour, associated models and their parameters, and methods how to constrain these using3. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Initial stress: Relation with structural setting and methods to quantify the in-situ stress condition4. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Loading conditions: Changes in pore pressure and temperature on wellbore and field scaleThis 5 full-day course starts with the determination of the stresses in the earth, the impact of different structural styles, salt bodies, faulting and folding on the orientation of the three main principal stress components. Different (field) data sources will be discussed to constrain their magnitude, while exercises will be made to gain hands-on experience.Subsequently, the concepts of stress and strain will be discussed, linear elasticity, total and effective stress and poro-elasticity in 1D, 2D and 3D, as well as thermal expansion. Participants will be able to construct and interpret a Mohr-circles. Also, different failure mechanisms and associated models (plastic, viscous) will be discussed. All these concepts apply on a material point level.Next, geomechanics on the wellbore scale is addressed, starting with the stress distribution around the wellbore (Kirsch equations). The impact of mudweight on shear and tensile failure (fracturing) will be calculated, and participants will be able to determine the mudweight window stable drilling operations, while considering well deviation and the use of oil-based and water-based muds (pore pressure penetration). Fracturing conditions and fracture propagation will be addressed.Field-scale geomechanics is addressed on the fourth day, focussing on building a 3D geomechanical model that is fit-for-purpose (focussing on the risks that need evaluation). Here, geological interpretation (layering), initial stress and formation property estimation (from petrophysical logs and lab experiments) as well as determining the loading conditions come together.The course is concluded with interpretation of the field-wide geomechanical response to reservoir depletion with special attention to reservoir compaction &amp; subsidence, well failure and fault reactivation &amp; induced seismicity. He guided multi-disciplinary teams in compaction &amp; subsidence, top-seal integrity, fault reactivation, induced-seismicity and containment. He was also involved in projects related to Carbon Capture Storage (CCS).He is the founding father of various innovations and assessment tools, and developed new insights into the root causes seismicity induced by Oil &amp; Gas production. Furthermore, he was the regional coordinator for technology deployment in Africa, and Smart Fields (DOFF, iField) design advisor for Shell globally. He was responsible for the Geomechanical competence framework, and associated virtual and classroom training programme in Shell for the last 10 years. He served as one of the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on geomechanics, provided Technical Assurance to many risk assessments, and is a co-author of Shell&rsquo;s global minimun standard on top-seal integry and containment. Having worked with a wide variety of clients from school-age students to senior executives, she has been designing and running workshops, seminars and classes in person or via web events since she left long commutes and corporate roles behind in 2014 when she created her first two businesses. Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations. Further, his responsibilities included designing, engineering, diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to repair deficiencies and improve system performance, supervising engineers, setting up preventive maintenance programs, writing Operating and Design Manuals, and commissioning new equipment. Later, he worked as the manager of a section dedicated to providing training for the staff at the power stations. The training provided by him covered in detail the various equipment and systems used in power stations. In addition, he has taught courses and seminars to more than four thousand working engineers and professionals around the world, specifically Europe and North America. He has been consistently ranked as &ldquo;Excellent&rdquo; or &ldquo;Very Good&rdquo; by the delegates who attended his seminars and lectures. In bookclub fiction, voices that have stayed with her are Adduni in The Girl With The Louding Voice, Cyril in The Heart’s Invisible Furies and Molly in The Maid. Recently, Kitty in How To Kill Men and Get Away With It had Laura secretly rooting for her serial killer antics.
Laura loves to be engrossed by a pacy, twisty, surprising plot. It doesn’t need to be overly complex – sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. She wants to be thrown curveballs she never saw coming and be kept guessing until the last page. Books Laura has devoured are Nightwatching, The Housemaid, The Last Mrs Parrish, Fourth Wing, None of This is True and American Dirt.
Books that play with genre also capture Laura. Novels such as Wrong Place, Wrong Time which combined a crime mystery and the story of a mother’s love with a speculative element and The Time Traveller’s Wife, a high-concept love story which crossed time and age.
Laura is a huge fan of true crime and would love to read a fiction version of podcasts she has been gripped by. She really enjoys cold cases being reopened as a result of new evidence or technology which exposes past injustices such as on Bone Valley, In The Dark or Who Killed Emma? She is particularly drawn to stories of deep deception or ‘scams’ such as those by Anna Delvey or Coco Berthmann, Tinder Swindler or Fyre Festival. Laura is always intrigued by anything involving investigation into cults, such as in BBC Sound’s World of Secrets.
She also loves nothing more than sobbing her heart out over a book and being left emotionally wrung-out! Whether it be a devastating historical tragedy or star-crossed lovers torn apart by destiny. Books that have broken her heart include The Bridges of Madison County, The Kite Runner, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Birdsong, My Sister’s Keeper, Cilka’s Journey and Four Winds.
In non-fiction, Laura is looking for an untold story or perspective or an unexplored area where you have expertise or real-life experience. As a reader of non-fiction she wants to be engaged in a relatable, accessible way. She loved the evocative settings and personal journeys in The Salt Path and The Wild Other. The laugh-out-loud More Than A Woman had her ordering this for many friends. Three Women and Educated are brilliant examples of non-fiction books that read like fiction. We will give an overview of what prompted the collection, and reflect on the themes that emerge through the chapters. Born to two bibliophiles, Isabel Lineberry could not have grown up to be anything else. She was born and raised in the Southwest United States but always knew she wanted to move to the UK. In high school she set her sights on a job in the publishing industry and hasn’t blinked since.
Isabel graduated in 2021 from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, with dual degrees in English Literature and Business Entrepreneurship. Just a few months later she was in Scotland pursuing an MLitt in Fantasy at the University of Glasgow. She wrote her Masters thesis on Tamora Pierce and is a fan of Ray Bradbury, Octavia Butler and Samantha Shannon. 
At Pérez Literary & Entertainment, Isabel looks after foreign rights and audio rights inquiries, assists the Managing Director and is building her own client list of contemporary stories and fantasy, across the YA and New Adult genres and any teen / Adult fiction that features a prominent romantic plot, in any guise.

Those were favorites for her as a teenager but she wants new takes––LGBT characters, diverse backgrounds, complex character development and a deep-dive into what it means to be a teenager in the current world. She is looking for the middle ground between the manic pixie dream girl and the buttoned-up character who just needs to take off their glasses.
In New Adult, Isabel is a big fan of authors like Elle Kennedy, C. W. Farnsworth, Elsie Silver and Morgan Elizabeth. BookTok romances are the perfect escapism for readers of all ages but especially for college students and young professionals like myself. Her all-time favorite tropes are Grumpy/Sunshine, Fall First/Fall Harder and all the Spice! She is not a fan of cheating storylines, accidental pregnancy, step-sibling romance or unnecessary miscommunication tropes.
