We will deviate from standard darkroom production through the practical exploration of a range of techniques such as Sabattier printing, bas relief printing, cameraless photography, and various methods for pushing and pulling film. These otherworldly techniques &ndash; many of which have been the basis for contemporary digital manipulation tools &ndash; offer abundant possibility for alternative photographic vision, where emphasis is placed on the transformative potential of darkroom work.</p><p style="color: rgb(80, 80, 80); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(80, 80, 80);">This course would be the perfect follow up from our Intro to B&amp;W or Colour Darkroom courses.</p><p style="color: rgb(80, 80, 80); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(80, 80, 80);">All materials including photographic film and paper will be provided during this course. This was followed by 10 years in offshore oil and gas design projects where he was responsible for setting up a Technical Safety group to change design safety practices in the aftermath of the 1988 Piper Alpha disaster. In recent years, he has been called upon to conduct various offshore and onshore incident investigations.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">His career has given him experience in project engineering, project management, process design and operations, safety engineering and risk management. He is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers. He served on the Scottish Branch committee, and was elected chairman for a two-year term in 1991. He has also been chairman of the Safety and Reliability Society &ndash; North of Scotland Branch.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">He has delivered training courses in Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP and HAZID), Process Safety Management, Hazard Awareness, Risk Assessment, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes &amp; Effect Analysis and has lectured on Reliability Analysis to the M.Sc. course in Process Safety and Loss Prevention at Sheffield University. Using clinical examples we will then introduce users to 12-lead ECG interpretation - explaining the key features of sinus rhythm, atrial arrhythmias, heart blocks, bundle branch blocks and ventricular arrhythmias. We'll delve into the changes that can occur during myocardial infarction and ischaemia and how the ECG changes in paediatric patients and in some genetic conditions. How do I attend?

CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. 7 - Using lancets (finger collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for POC testing and whole blood micro-collection.

We look at the correct use of lancets for neonatal blood spot tests (Guthrie Test).
