If you have always wanted to upcycle furniture, but felt like you would benefit from professional guidance then this is the course for you! You will learn how to prepare your furniture, using wood filler, expert sanding and paint techniques. You will learn to create stunningly modern geometric designs that are simple to achieve. By the end of the day you will leave with a gorgeous piece of upcycled furniture, feeling confident of your skills and full of ideas for future projects. The workshops have a relaxed and informal atmosphere where we can inspire each other and have lots of fun along the way. To ensure you get my full support throughout the day class sizes are limited to 6 people. All you need to bring is an unpainted, wooden piece of furniture. This should be easy to carry and no larger than a bedside table or wooden chair. Contact me with any questions or for recommendations of where to source your preloved piece. Send a picture of it if you would like advice. All abilities are welcome. It can get messy so please wear clothes that you don&rsquo;t mind getting paint on. All other materials will be providing, including your own information pack to take home, detailing all that is covered in the workshop. I am a qualified teacher and tutor and have been running workshops for several years. I started my own upcycling furniture business in 2015 and will share everything I&rsquo;ve learnt with you. There is a little cafe at Pear Mill where you are welcome to break and get some lunch during the day or feel free to bring a pack lunch.
Cancellation Policy:&nbsp;Tickets are non-refundable. If the workshop is cancelled for reasons beyond our control than alternative dates will be arranged. If you have a voucher, then the date you select to redeem it on becomes your ticket and you cannot change from the date selected. However, if you are unable to attend please notify us as soon as you can and we will do our best to transfer you to another date, providing we are able to re-sell your place. We will only reschedule you once. We reserve the right to reschedule a workshop if numbers are too low to make it viable to run or will offer to transfer any bookings to other available dates. <h2 dir="ltr" id="isPasted" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Course description</h2>Figma is an industry leading web-based design tool that allows you to create user interfaces for any screen type or size, collaborate on those designs in real-time and build interactive prototypes suitable for user testing.Figma is a visual design tool so there&rsquo;s no coding involved. Design is achieved by adding, combining and styling shapes, text and images on a canvas or &lsquo;Frame&rsquo;.&nbsp;We run 2 consecutive Figma training days, the second day building on the practical activities from the first.&nbsp;You can attend just the first day. She is based in Cheshire and specialises in mixed media textile pieces, taking inspiration from a variety of sources and particularly interested in the way societies created a series of visual symbols to represent the things which were important to them. HARNESSING THE POWER OF THE BREATH
The way we breathe affects everything we do, everything we think and everything we feel. It affects our sleep, our digestion, our immune system, our energy levels, our emotions, our ability to think clearly and our relationships, to name but a few.
In this course we will be combining my passions of Qigong and Breathwork to help bring us into balance so we can move though Autumn into winter full of peace and vitality.
Why Qigong and Breathwork?
Qigong is breathwork (Qi is Breath), it is an amazing way of opening and clearing the body, of making space for our healthy energy to flow. It allows us to stay relaxed and receptive without forcing or pushing. It is easy to learn and naturally attuned to your individual body and how it wants to expand, release and recharge.
Breathwork is simply bringing our conscious attention to our breath and is one of the most powerful ways we have to change our state at any given moment. In the course i will introduce you to eight different breath techniques to help you to breathe better. Commit to just 10mins a day and you’ll be amazed at the results you can achieve.
Everyone is welcome to join the course no matter your experience.

Our courses are social and interactive whether delivered online or in-person. Our aim is to introduce and build crafting skills and the basic skills needed for success in the workplace and at home, including self-confidence, problem solving, communicating in a group, basic maths and English. We teach over 45 different paper craft and mixed media techniques. Each course is carefully constructed to help you develop your crafting skills and knowledge. &nbsp;Crafting and our courses are mindful, taking us away from the day-to-day. Participants have consistently reported improvements in their wellbeing. &nbsp;Anyone who wants to learn new skills can join our programmes. &nbsp;No previous experience of papercrafting or mixed media work is needed. We have delivered courses successfully in Cambridgeshire for 6 1/2 years and have worked with 280 Cambridges residents during this time. 86% of participants state that what we offer has helped to improve their wellbeing. 75% state that it has made a positive difference to their daily lives. &nbsp;Please note that the Cademy calenda/description states that this course is over 13 weeks. This is because the 10 weeks of the course are delivered over 13 weeks, during 3 of which, Craft4Smiles is closed for holidays!&nbsp;

A standalone 10-week quilling course - 2 hours per week online with daytime and evening options - that will introduce you to the materials, tools, and techniques used in quilling and to Craft4Smiles C.I.C and our tutors.   At the end of each session you will have a lovely quilled item to show family and friends or to display on your shelf!  All materials and equipment needed will be supplied and are yours to keep. This course is helpful for those for whom English is not their native tongue as there is a lot of repetition of basic terms including numbers, colours and directions.
