1. Assessment and Planning: * Survey the area where you want to install CCTV cameras. Identify key areas that need surveillance such as entry points, blind spots, and valuable assets. * Determine the number of cameras needed and their types (e.g., dome, bullet, PTZ) based on the coverage required and environmental conditions. * Plan the placement of cameras considering factors like lighting conditions, obstructions, and the angle of view required. 2. Selecting Equipment: * Choose high-quality CCTV cameras and other necessary equipment such as DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) or NVRs (Network Video Recorders), cables, connectors, power supplies, and storage devices. * Ensure compatibility between cameras and recording devices. Consider features like resolution, night vision capability, and weather resistance. 3. Mounting Cameras: * Install cameras at the planned locations using appropriate mounting brackets or housings. * Ensure cameras are securely fixed to prevent tampering or theft. * Adjust the angle and direction of each camera to cover the desired area effectively. 4. Running Cables: * Plan the route for cables connecting cameras to the recording device. * Use weatherproof cables suitable for outdoor installation. * Conceal cables where possible to prevent tampering and maintain aesthetics. 5. Connecting Components: * Connect cameras to the DVR/NVR using appropriate cables and connectors. * Ensure proper power supply to cameras and recording devices. * Configure network settings if using an IP-based CCTV system for remote viewing. 6. Configuring Settings: * Access the DVR/NVR interface and configure settings such as recording schedule, motion detection, and video quality. * Set up user accounts and passwords to restrict access to the system. * Test the system to ensure cameras are capturing footage and recording properly. 7. Remote Viewing (Optional): * Set up remote viewing capabilities to access live or recorded footage from smartphones, tablets, or computers. * Configure port forwarding on your router if accessing the system from outside the local network. * Install and configure the necessary software or mobile apps provided by the CCTV system manufacturer. 8. We are accredited by The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. We have strong links with the surveying profession both in terms of potential employers and equipment manufacturers. The Course takes place in two six-week blocks spread over two years. The Survey School is home to the TSA Surveying Course. We are the UK’s only commercial training centre that provides training to the land survey profession which is accredited by The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. The Survey School was established in Worcester over 30 years ago and, on the 1st May 2014, The Survey Association (TSA) took over the running of The School to ensure the continuation of arguably the best survey training available in the UK. Since taking over the running of The School, TSA has invested in updating the IT systems and equipment and has received immense support from the survey instrument manufacturers. In the late 1990’s, it was evident that there was a need for non-academic practical survey training and so the TSA Surveying Course was developed. Find out more about TSA here. As principal lecturer he delivers the majority of the training of the School including the flagship TSA Surveying Course. He has over 40 years survey experience covering all areas of topographic, engineering and measured building survey both in the UK and abroad. tutor@surveyschool.org.uk Sharon Wilkins – Office Administrator Sharon is the administrator at the Survey School. The Survey Association - TSA

the survey association - tsa

Newark On Trent

The Survey Association, known generally as TSA, is the trade body for commercial survey companies in the UK. The association was formed in 1979 to give a focus for private sector businesses in land and hydrographic survey. It is important to realise, however, that it is not a regulatory body. The role of TSA is to promote best practice amongst its members, provide a forum for members for discussion, debate and continuing professional development and, to the wider audience such as engineers and architects, provide guidance on new methods and techniques and a list of suitably qualified and experienced companies. Today, the association has over 200 companies in membership as full, associate, supplier, affiliate or academic members directly involved in the geospatial profession. TSA is also involved in lobbying Government departments when appropriate and other agencies such as the Environment Agency regarding policies likely to affect or involve the survey profession. TSA meets regularly with RICS and CICES on a range of issues and has established a group called the SLG, or Survey Liaison Group. This body convenes at regular intervals to examine matters of mutual interest and to ensure that there is little or no duplication of effort by the three bodies. Representatives from the Geospatial Commission also regularly join SLG meetings. Eucan Community Interest Company

eucan community interest company

London

EuCAN is a Community Interest Company (CIC) working in the UK and other countries of Europe to involve more people and communities in the conservation management of their local environment, by providing training and practical experience for young graduates, potential volunteers and therapeutic groups, in nature conservation and in sustainable land management and food production enterprises. EuCAN CIC started life in 2007 as the European Conservation Action Network, a project linked to The Kingcombe Centre in west Dorset, and funded entirely by the Leonardo da Vinci strand of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme. Since 2007, The European Conservation Action Network has set up 23 different two-week placements and enabled nearly 300 volunteers to visit 11 partner organisations in the EU. In 2011, when The Kingcombe Trust was wound up, EuCAN became established as an independent Community Interest Company through which, in addition to promoting placements with our other EU partners, we have organised several conservation projects in Dorset and Somerset, are undertaking an increasing number of habitat management contracts using professionals and trainees working together, and have run training courses each year in botanical and lepidoptera identification and ecology, bumblebee conservation and id and other subjects. The CIC now acts as a hub for the wide network of volunteers, organisations and other contacts that EuCAN has cultivated since 2007. Have a look at our Flickr site to get an idea of the range of activities we have been involved with!
