A social business Catch22 provides young people aged 4-18 with alternative and special education in order for them to progress and succeed in sustained education or employment. We do this through high quality teaching and learning based on effective relationships that enable the achievement of life skills and meaningful qualifications. Catch22 was approved as an Academy Sponsor by the Department for Education (DfE) in February 2014 and became the sponsor of our first Academy, The Ashwood Academy in Hampshire, in September 2014. The Catch22 Multi Academies Trust is the vehicle for our sponsorship of a number of academies focusing on learners who can benefit from small, supportive alternative and special education provision. Academy sponsorship is about using partnerships to provide specific expertise and skills to enhance standards. Catch22, with our existing wide experience of alternative and special education provision, brings a focus on academic and behavioural improvement leading to re-integration back to mainstream provision up to Key Stage 3, infrastructure support, improvement to pastoral provision and greater focus on preparing young people for the world of work. The Five Minute Literacy Box and The Five Minute Number Box have been opened by children of all ages since 2003. Since then, the activities and materials have been updated as necessary with best practice dyslexia teaching. When Jane Kendall (BA, Dip RSA SpLD) founded Five Minute Box she realised the effects that early failure has on self esteem and the impact that anxiety has on working relationships in families and peer groups. Jane worked as a Primary School class teacher, Inclusion manager and trainer of Teaching Assistants in the UK. With her training and experience in Specific Learning Difficulties, she observed that many children in each class were struggling with English and Maths early in their education. She found that using structured multisensory programmes of specific games for just a few minutes each day helped children overcome their difficulties while learning strategies to help themselves. Five Minute Boxes are now used by children all over the world. Early use of Five Minute Box interventions helps identify children with potential specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyscalculia. The activities adapt to each child’s differences. Children love taking ownership over their learning using the Boxes. They learn organisational and sequencing skills and help to choose their session goals. Children experience success, which motivates them further.

Glena Art Studio opens in London on the 1st of November, 2022, following seven years old history of the Glena Art Studio project for art education, workshops, and creative events across the UK, Bulgaria, and internationally via online tutoring. The leader and teacher of the studio is Galina Hristova, a practising artist and educator, with BA and MA in Set and Costume design and MFA in Fine Arts. Her professional training started at the widely acclaimed National school of Fine Arts ‘Tzanko Lavrenov’, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and ended with the MFA Course at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL, London, UK. Trained in the academic tradition of painting and drawing, Galina now works multidisciplinary with main focus on Painting and Performance art. Together with her teaching experience, she has led different workshops, presentations, and talks. Her practice expands in curation with the realisation of different art exhibitions and live events. Galina has six solo exhibitions and a great number of collective shows. Her purpose as an educator is to guide and encourage students to discover and release their creative potential, but also to support personal development. Through the formation of self-esteem and social integrity, raise values such as equality, compassion, and acceptance.

The Lemonade Project is an initiative of Shared Health Foundation with the aim of building resilience in young people who are experiencing low levels of emotional wellbeing. It is part of Shared Health Foundation’s wider strategy to improve mental health support for adolescents across Greater Manchester. Our resources and training are perfect to help schools meet new PSHE requirements. Project Overview The Lemonade Project consists of three strands: The Lemonade Resource Book: A range of interactive, engaging activities designed to be used by small groups of young people. It covers six main chapters addressing many of the issues in the ‘Resilience Framework’, for example emotional literacy, self esteem and identity, and dealing with challenge The Tough Times Toolkit: A conversation aid which consists of suggested questions and prompts which can help get to the root of any problems a young person might be experiencing, as well as an informal risk assessment. It also includes ideas for strategies that an adult may want to suggest to a young person to try and help them manage strong emotions. The Life and Lemons Journal: An interactive resilience journal for young people. We believe that the best way this journal can be used is to allow the young person to take it way, use in their own time, and then meet back to discuss any issues that it might have raised in a safe space with a parent/teacher or trusted adult.

The Rose Arts London was always a childhood dream of mine and it was manifested through a pain in my life, with the loss of my Grandad; Charles Alexander Gardner. He, alongside my Mother and Nan, supported me with my dance and drama training, performance career and attended all classes, auditions and performances. When he passed away, it pushed me to embrace my artistry and passions. The Rose represents three things: A dedication to my Grandad; His favourite flower A name influence; My middle name Rosetta and my mother Rosemarie The flourish of each child who trains with us. As a seed they begin but as ‘The Rose’ they grow. Experience My training began at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and have been training in every discipline, since the age of 3 and teaching dance and drama since the age of 14. Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Liturgical, Street Dance, Jazz, Commercial and Musical Theatre. Further to this, I attended college studied Performing Arts, obtaining distinctions in the art form, allowing me to receive an unconditional offer to University, where I obtained my degree in Dance Practice and Performance. I have had an extensive career in the arts, through stage, film and television and have received such amazing opportunities I am truly grateful for. About T.R.A.L. T.R.A.L. is a place for all Rose Students to discover, train, explore, create, challenge and motivate what they learn here and to ignite their passion, of why dance, drama, sport and song is such an amazing artistic outlet, which not only teaches creativity and utilises talent but also discipline. The role of the arts builds character and self-esteem and at The Rose Arts London, one of the assets that I hold as an important part, is the family friendly atmosphere.This delivers a guarantee from us, that our space is a positive and productive learning environment, where our students can grow, most importantly learn, and create in an energetic, confident building atmosphere. Students are able to discover more about themselves artistically, gain new friends and be proud to be a part of The Rose Arts. Myself and our teachers, who have work(ed) within the industry, aim to continually make The Rose Arts London a success, with the passion we hold and with which, our goal is to impart our experiences, knowledge and love of the arts to our students. We start working with our young people from an early age to ensure that we can follow through when building their confidence and self-esteem; especially when faced with challenges such as peer pressure, body image, mental health, and addiction. Our youth team helps to make all our courses a success. We use the skills of our Black community ambassadors, be-frienders, and arts awarded courses as a mean of engagement. With our youth, we use a unique approach to person-centred success. We encourage an holistic approach, making them aware of Black history, Black leaders and connections with the Black elders within our community.
