Suitable for complete beginners Age 15 plus Join Lynne from Pots of Magic to create your own ceramic Greenman plaque . During this 3 hour workshop you will be guided through each  section using basic hand building and sculpting techniques . During the first 90 minutes you will sculpt and form the face ,with the opportunity to create your own unique character . There will then be a teabreak before you add the  foliage to your Greenman Foliage will be provided however if you wish to personalise your plaque using leaves from your own garden please do not hesitate to do so . (Please note leaves are rolled into the clay to leave an imprint then cut out .therefore leaves with veins give best results ) Once finished your clay creation will dry out slowly  for 2 weeks before under going its first kiln firing . Once bisque fired it will then be professionally glazed by Lynne and enter the kiln again for its final firing . Your final piece will be ready for collection 4 to 5  weeks later from Ainsdale . All materials Tuition Glazing And both firings are included in the price. £60 pp Complete beginners are welcome and no experience is required We look forward to a fun creative morning!

Our vision is to improve the future of children everywhere by enhancing learning experiences through activities that place creativity at the heart of curriculum learning. Our Story As Creatives began life in 2008 as a group of six freelance creative practitioners who all felt that the sum of our parts gave us a far greater chance of fulfilling our shared aim to see Creative Learning at the heart of education. With backgrounds across the Creative Industries, including classical acting, illustration, theatre directing and sculpture, we were all determined to keep space in our lives for our individual practices while finding time to work together to design a range of creative learning workshops and programmes, that we could offer to schools and the wider community. The success of this way of working led us very quickly to set up as a limited company and we have never looked back! Twelve years on our mission remains unchanged. We believe more than ever in the power of the arts to transform lives, fuelled by our first-hand experiences. We have expanded to work with a wider group of creative practitioners, all specialists in their fields, and we continue to work together both nationally and internationally to find new and exciting ways to engage children and young people in their learning.

To this end, we have developed a ‘Manifesto for Change’ which sets out the ways in which we aim to continue our journey to excellence and identifies the long-term priorities for the school. One of our main priorities this year will be to ensure, as far as we can, that no child is left behind and that every child is challenged by the curriculum that we have in place. Students should find things difficult, although not impossible, at times. They should struggle at times and be expected to think deeply about the work that they do. They shouldn’t be getting everything right all of the time; if they are, the work is too easy and they’re not being challenged. None of this means that they shouldn’t be enjoying their learning; being challenged can be enjoyable. The curriculum is the bread and butter of our educational offer and should be inspiring a real thirst for learning; we can only do this through supporting and challenging. In 2021, we created this microsite to respond to the global outcry that Black Lives Matter. Here at LJMU we are unequivocal about the need to examine ourselves and our community to become a welcoming place for students of colour. A major part of this process has been our reciprocal mentoring scheme which has matched Leader’s from the university with students who can give us first-hand accounts about their life and studying in Liverpool. Here, on this site you will find updates on the work we are carrying out, and information to help you if you are either a new or current student here at the University. Our ambition is strong and, along with others from both student and staff, we are determined to change and be a place that we can all be proud of.
