The Forest of Avon is one of England's Community Forests which were established many years ago with the aim of connecting people with trees locally. The Forest of Avon is not a single 'forest' but the combination of the many trees and woodlands across the West of England, formerly Avon - the four counties of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. So far, well over a million trees have been planted in the Forest of Avon and many woodlands and access networks have been improved and maintained. You may see 'Forest of Avon' signs on your local walks showing where we have supported landowners to improve or plant new woodland and where they support public access for our lovely walks. As part of a network of community forests we can source funding such as through our current Trees for Climate project, Defra funded through England's Community Forests. We want to enable as many people as possible to access and enjoy the benefits of our trees and community woodlands.

A fair society where socially excluded people are supported to obtain skills, qualifications and employment to build sustainable, independent lives contributing positively to society History: At its foundation, The Restore Trust was set up in 2009 by the current CEO Suzanne Thompson and SMT board of Avon & Somerset Probation Trust, in conjunction with the National Offender Management Service. The organisation was registered as an independent VCSE in 2010 and is managed by an excellent board of trustees. Whilst the organisation retains a specialism in working with people with complex needs and criminal convictions, it can work with anyone in the community who is experiencing barriers in accessing training and employment. Many of our clients have complex needs in relation to homelessness, mental health problems, drug/alcohol dependency and offending behaviour. We pride ourselves on our non-judgemental, person-centred approach in our work with clients that builds their confidence, motivation and helps to inspire change in their lives. Mission/Values: Our mission is to work collaboratively with different organisations to promote equality of opportunity, strengthen the sector by access to high quality services to enable people to reach their full potential by gaining the skills, confidence, qualifications and employment suited to their needs and aspirations, ultimately contributing positively to society and the local economy. underfall yard trust

Members of the Trust rescued the slipway and buildings from dereliction in the 1990s, with support from Bristol City Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the South West Regional Development Authority and volunteers. Following the restoration, the yard was set up as a working boatyard with tenants, including a number of start-up small enterprises. Underfall Yard is now home to many different maritime-related businesses, as well as several clubs and organisations focused around water activities. All income from the tenants and the slipway is put back into maintaining the yard and buildings. The Trust also takes a keen interest in Bristol Docks as a whole, and in maintaining Bristol’s maritime heritage. Underfall Yard Trust’s goals for the Heritage Lottery Fund project, delivered between 2014-2018, were: Preserving and restoring the historic buildings and machinery Retaining the unique character of the Underfall Yard keeping it as a working and productive place, not a working museum Improving public access, engagement, awareness and understanding of the yard including interpretation, with opportunities for learning and volunteering Nurturing and supporting maritime skills by providing workshops, with opportunities for training and learning Enhancing sustainability to ensure long-term viability The current chair of the Trust is Ian Wilkinson who can be contacted via the yard’s postal
