An ideal way for beginners to explore the malleability of this colourful metal, whilst making a unique box for keepsakes.
All materials and templates are included in the price.
The class will be no larger than 6 people and held in Bryony's own colourful and eclectic workshop at Coburg House Studios in Leith, Edinburgh.
Due to Covid19 restrictions Bryony cannot provide tea, coffee but she will point you in the direction of some great local Leith Deli's and coffee shops where you can pick up lunch or feel free to bring your own.
In accordance with Covid19 Safety measures students are provided with disposable masks and/ or visors to wear. Social Distance measures have been though of with work spaces 2 meters apart and all tools sanitised before use.

In this 3-hour workshop, Lou Davis will take you through how to make a gelatin (vege-gel) printing plate which can be used to print beautiful and colourful works of art.&nbsp;We&rsquo;ll cover a number of techniques including using stencils and masks, adding texture with botanicals and found objects and using household items for mark making and using home-made foam stamps.
We&rsquo;ll then take our completed prints and use them to create unique greeting cards.&nbsp;You will take home a set of up to 10 hand-printed, one-off greeting cards with envelopes. Group workshop (5-12 people)

Learn to carve wood starting with this nice little project of a Dala horse. The basic shape has been formed using a bandsaw so you will add detail and learn about carving following the grain of the wood.
You will learn safe wood carving techniques using the Mora 120 &amp; 106 wood carving knives, or other Mora knives more suitable for children. Some of these safe carving techniques are the same as those used for carving a range of other treen such as spoons. This is a less strenuous carving project than making a spoon so is also ideal for beginners. We will also cover sharpening knives as this is key to safe carving.
Other tools are also available to use and try out.

Firstly you will be able to make and decorate an unique set of handmade tiles using coloured slips; creating colour, pattern and texture. Each person will be introduced to wheelthrowing; we will take you through the basics of each stage and everyone will make a small pot each. Your pieces will be finished, fired and glazed for you ready to collect a few weeks later. Like all our courses, class sizes are limited so lots of hands-on support.
