This course is designed to provide you with the required skills to either become employed in a dog grooming environment or set up your own grooming business.  At an appropriate time during your training, you will be given the option to pursue a nationally accredited qualification in addition to those detailed above. You may, of course, choose to complete the training only and not gain a qualification other than the ones included. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The course will cover: * The preparation, styling and finishing of dogs * Preparation for practical assessments * Theory study support  Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads. COURSE LENGTH: 20 Days consisting of our Salon Assistant Course (below) plus an additional 12 days of clipping and styling training

This course is designed to provide a basic introduction to dog grooming, it is the building blocks for an excellent career in dog grooming providing both the practical skills and the theory behind dog grooming Dog Grooming Assistants course gives you the basic skills you need to start working in a dog grooming environment under supervision.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE COURSE WILL COVER * Correct handling and lifting of dogs * Health checking of a dog * Basic first aid * Preparing and grooming dogs prior to bathing * Bathing and cleaning dogs * Drying dogs and preparing their coats for styling * De-shedding techniques * Introduction to basic styling * Scissoring foot shapes * Nail and ear care * Cleaning and maintaining equipment used for grooming * Maintain the cleanliness and bio security of the animal care working environment in-line with health and safety * Guidance in client relations and salon management Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is highly recommended that upon completion of this course, you continue onto completing the 20 Day Commercial Stylist Course.  As you will have already completed 8 days of training, we can offer you a fantastic discount on the remaining 12 days of training and it includes a Pet First Aid course and certificate.  See below for full details.

On this course we go into far greater detail on understanding the dog’s needs, behaviour, state of mind, language, and improving your leadership skills.

The Snobby Dogs Refresh & Improve Dog Grooming Course is designed to assist qualified or experienced dog groomers in improving their grooming techniques and methods. The course will help dog groomers with their professional techniques such as bathing, drying, scissoring, styling and shaping. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The course will cover * Correct and safe handling of dogs * Health Checking of a dog * Drying dogs and prepare their coats for styling * Scissor techniques * Use of comb attachments * Styling techniques * Nail and ear care Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Suitable for qualified and/or experienced dog groomers

Owners Maintenance Courses are ran on the first Tuesday of every month (subject to availability) and are designed for those who want to gain a very basic understanding of grooming and maintaining their own dog between professional grooming appointments. You will need to bring along your own dog to work on for the day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The course will cover: * Correct and safe grooming procedures prior to bathing * Safe and pain-free matt removal using appropriate products, tools and equipment * Correct and safe bathing and drying techniques * Nail and ear care * How to safely maintain your dog’s coat between their salon visits. Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads.

Our Induction Days ran on the first Wednesday of every month (subject to availability) and are a pre-requisite to all of our longer courses.  The day is designed for those who want to gain a basic understanding of what our longer courses entail and/or are trying to establish if a career in dog grooming is for them. The cost of this day is deducted from one of the longer course of your choice. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE COURSE WILL COVER * Health and safety induction and UK Animal Welfare Legislation * Handling and correct lifting techniques * Preparing and grooming dogs prior to bathing * Bathe and clean dogs * Drying dogs and preparing their coat for styling * Nail and ear care * Finishing and styling demonstration by a stylist Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads.

Behavioural Foundation Course. The foundation course is a great opportunity to learn about your dog’s needs.

Pet Gun Dog Foundation Course Level 1 For Pet Gun Dogs aged 5 months upwards.

Puppy training classes and dog training classes are suitable for general dog training and relationship building. Classes are run in line with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Traioners) code of ethics, and training techniques are based upon positive reinforcement, using dog treats or dog toys and play as rewards for completing the actions we ask the puppy or dog to complete.    Classes will be limited to 6 people, to ensure I can circulate and provide individual feedback relevant to your puppy or dog training. We will teach foundation behaviours, with the benefit of being in a dog training class environment, which relies on your dog working around the distraction of other dogs. Classes will also teach you to effectively communicate with your dog and give you the skills to practice outside of classes and implement the training in your every day life, in a rage of environments. Puppy training classes and Dog training classes last 1 hour. They are run on Friday mornings in Bishop's Stortford. Puppy training class= 9:30am Dog training class= 11:00am DOG TRAINING CLASSES BISHOP'S STORTFORD Puppy training group class= £100 (6 classes) Dog training group class= £100 (6 classes)   Classes are run in blocks of 6 weeks. Focusing on you and your dog outside of a group class setting, in a 1-2-1 dog training session, can be really useful for you and your dog.   We can focus on specific goals you may have, from teaching a dog a new game such as retrievals or flirt pole, to training for specific situation such good dog manners when guests come to our house. We can also develop a training plan to help address existing undesirable behaviours your experiencing such as your dog pulling on lead, your dog not performing recall, dog to dog reactivity, dog to person reactivity or even your dog chasing birds or squirrels.   1-2-1 dog training sessions are typically 1 hour or 1.5 hours long, depending on the issue, or number of things you want to look at in a single session. Training can be carried out in your home/ garden or out at an agreed location, such as a local park, if suitable for you and your dog's particular issue. I am also happy for you to travel to me to train your dog at an agreed location. 1-2-1 DOG TRAINING PRICES: 1 hour = £60, including follow up report. 1.5 hours= £90, including follow up report. (Longer sessions can be arranged by agreement, priced on an individual basis.)
