 in a variety of simulated catheter lab emergency scenarios. These usually take place within a real cath lab to make the scenarios as realistic as possible (yes the C-arm really does get in the way a lot!), but may also include &#39;Recovery&#39; scenarios.&nbsp;Each team will have the 
 opportunity to take part in a number of scenarios including de-briefs 
 and observe good and bad practice. The duration of the course can be altered to meet the availability of the attendees. Suitability 
This course is designed for those working in an environment where an AED is available and staff
members need additional training in its use and maintenance. The qualification has been mapped to
current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines. Learners should be a minimum of 16 years to undertake this qualification. 

Description
This qualification provides learners with skills and knowledge to use and carry out maintenance on AEDs. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 3 Responding to Incidents with an AED Certificate, which is valid for 1 year from the date of assessment.

Demonstration of the IR vein detector for assisting in detection of difficult veins.

Point of Care Testing - use of glucose meter to demonstrate a typical POC test procedure. Correct use and overview of other POC test devices.
7 - Using lancets (finger collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for POC testing and whole blood micro-collection.
8 - Using lancets (heel collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for neonatal blood spot tests (Guthrie Test).

Using glass capillary tubes for micro-collection. Correct use and handling.

Training kits mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video instructions, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

The aim of the course is for learners to develop an understanding of medical terminology in an enjoyable, interactive and informative way so that they are better able to decipher and unravel the mystery of long medical words.
