What is Reggaeton? It is a blend of Jamaican music with Dancehall & Hip Hop, and the lyrics are mainly in Spanish. Reggaeton became popular in the early 90s within the Latin American you and spread to North America, Europe & Asia. The dancing is very engaging, smooth and versatile. You will experience a real workout, especially in your hips, shoulders and legs toning, it is the real deal!

Immerse yourself into a relaxing sound bath, letting the acient technique of sound therapy soothe your soul.  For those unfamiliar with sound baths, there is unfortunately no bathing involved! (I have had people imagine that they are in a huge tub listening to music before....that sounds like my kind of therapy! ) After a gentle floor based yoga session to relax your body, the sound bath will begin. Using 7 crystall bowls, each linked to a chakra within your body; crown, third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral and root chakra, the bowls emit different frequencies and the sounds will vibrate through your body helping to clear any blockages and negative energy stored within.  Whilst this is a completely non evasive treatment for certain people it is not recommened.  Anyone with a pace maker or mechanical device within their body, due to the vibrations potentially causing a shift.  Pregnant ladies in their first and third trimester-please seek advice from your midwife prior to attending.  Anyone suffering with severe mental health issues- please seek advice from a medical practioner before attending to see if they agree that this is a suitable therapy which will not trigger you and make your condition worse. A challenging and enjoyable week of music-making in a very friendly atmosphere. A feature of the Music Summer School is the very high ratio of tutors to participants, with a professional tutor for each instrumental and vocal section.  All courses enjoy wide-ranging and exciting repertoire. There will also be a range of open sessions run by members of the tutoring team, plus informal sessions which are member-led. Concerts take place on many of the evenings, given both by participants and professionals. From 2024 we will be using the excellent facilities provided by Uppingham School in the county of Rutland.

A choir for People from the Global Majority to find community in song. Led by Aisha Ali (they/them), all songs will be taught by ear so no need to know how to read music. Songs will be in a variety of languages and sessions will be playful. We'll start every session with a grounding. This is a an Anti-Racist and solidarity space, rooted in joy.  When? 1st Sat of every month starting 6th April Where? Bristol Old Vic  What time? 3-5pm!!!! An introduction to reading and writing music notation; for musicians of all abilities, taught by successful music teacher Janine Rogers. During the course you will cover the entire Grade 1 ABRSM theory syllabus through presentations, games, exercises and handout material.

“Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue.” - Plato -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Music Production Masterclass is a 2-day course led by music producer and Musical Theatre student, Jack Howells Davies, alongside a secondary Music Production tutor (TBC). With experience in music technology, composing, producing music for video, film scoring, composition and more, Jack’s expertise will help guide budding music producers on their journey to creating amazing music for a variety of formats.  Jack is currently studying a BA in Musical Theatre at the Conservatoire, and also has professional training at Hurtwood House, Guildford School of Acting and Stagecoach in a number of musical styles and genres, as well as experience in musical theatre audition technique, so he is a great asset to our teaching faculty who can advise in a number of areas.   When you join this 2-day intensive course, you’ll learn the art of production which can help every type of creative to showcase their musical talents in the best way. This course will help students develop skills to produce music for outlets such as film and television soundtracks, and music videos, and musicians will even have the opportunity to write and play contemporary music for performance. ‍ WHEN AND WHERE? The Music Production Masterclass takes place in Cranleigh Arts Centre, around 20 minutes from Guildford. The venue has a professional theatre, a sprung dance floor for choreography sessions, dressing rooms, and lots of great areas for filming and multimedia activities, so it's the perfect spot for our aspiring performers to learn in. ‍ Tuesday 23rd - Wednesday 24th July 2024 In2Drama is split into two groups for age related focus 11-15 year olds: 9am - 12pm 16-21 year olds: 1pm - 4pm
