<p>Governments, regulators and energy companies are pursuing CO<sub>2</sub> storage technologies to meet their net-zero carbon commitments as well as targets set by the international Paris Agreement on climate change. For successfully executing Carbon Capture &amp; Storage (CCS) projects, various technical, operational, economic and environmental risks and associated stakeholders need to be managed.</p>
<p>In this <strong>5 half-day Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course</strong>, the methods for managing risk in CCS projects are addressed <u>with a focus on CO<sub>2 </sub>injection and storage.</u> The VILT course will also demonstrate how to assess storage capacity of a potential CO<sub>2</sub> storage reservoir, model framing techniques, and well injectivity issues related to CO<sub>2</sub> injection. The potential leak paths will be discussed such as reservoir seals, leakage along faults and aspects of well integrity. In addition, exercises are used to practise the aspects of the CCS risk assessment process. <p>Your expert course leader has more than 36 years of experience in the oil &amp; gas industry with Shell. He gained broad experience in petroleum engineering, with expertise in integrated production systems from subsurface, wells and surface. He has had assignments in Production Technology, R&amp;D, Production Chemistry, Rock Mechanics and Reservoir Engineering cEOR, with a proven track record in technology screening, development and deployment, field development planning, conceptual well design and Production System Optimization (PSO) of gas and oil fields as well as preparing Well, Reservoir &amp; Facility Management (WRFM) strategies and plans. He had also worked on assignments in NAM and did fieldwork in Oman, Gabon and Shell Nigeria. He is a skilled workshop facilitator. He discovered his passion for teaching following an assignment in Shell Learning. During his time in Shell, he developed and taught technical courses to Shell professionals via blended learning.</p>
<p><strong>Trainer 2:</strong></p>
<p>Your second expert course leader has over 30 years of experience identifying, assessing and mitigating technical risks with Shell. The main focal point of his experience is in subsurface and Geomechanical risks. He is the the founding father of various innovations in how we assess risks by tool development (for bore hole stability, 3D geomechanical field evaluations and probabilistic assessment). He also developed an eye for people motivation, change management and facilitation. He was also responsible for the Geomechanical competence framework, and associated virtual and classroom training programme in Shell for 10 years.</p>

<p>Your third expert course leader has more than 30 years of experience in Shell, focusing on research and development in drilling and offshore systems. His areas of expertise is in project management, finance, business planning, investment, development studies and economics models. In 2021, he worked on a project that looked into the economic evaluation of P18A field complex for CO<sub>2</sub> storage. He has an MSc in Mechanical Engineering (M.E.) TU Delft Netherlands (Hons) and a baccalaureate from Erasmus University Rotterdam.</p>

Wells are widely considered the most critical containment element, especially older wells that are not used to inject CO2 or monitor the plume evolution in the storage reservoir. The main reason for this perceived risk is the high corrosion rate of carbon steel when exposed to wet CO2, and the tendency of Portland cement to react with the gas.</p>

<p>Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has provided intercontinental mobility to natural gas, which now provides about 25% of the global primary energy. Being the cleanest fossil fuel, natural gas/LNG consumption is forecasted to grow in all future scenarios. With the entry of various players, including Trading companies, the LNG value chain is becoming increasingly complex, and a solid understanding of its economics and management of its interfaces have become crucial to identify and assess investment opportunities and risks.</p>
<p>Recent market disturbances caused by COVID-19, Oil &amp; Gas price instabilities - coupled with the political (Ukraine/Russia) challenges - make a deep understanding of LNG Value Chain Logistics and Economics even more essential to ensure the security of energy supplies sustainably and profitably.</p>
<p>This intermediate level 3 full-day course starts with a concise introduction to the LNG business. Thereafter, the elements of the LNG value chain are described, and their individual economics analysed. A Business Activity Model along the value chain will be developed and discussed in depth, covering the following key processes:</p>

<p>The integrated chain economics will then be developed and quantified. <p>Since 2004, he has had several roles in the management of the LNG Value Chain including the Commercial Operational Management of Nigeria LNG (NLNG). He played an active role in the start-up and integration of LNG trains 4, 5 and 6 with NLNG becoming the 3rd largest LNG producer in the world in 2007. Commercial operations spanned 4 Gas Supply, 11 LNG Sales &amp; Purchase Agreements, ad-hoc LPG and Condensate Sales and LNG Ship Chartering contracts. Under his supervision, more than 2,000 LNG cargoes were exported. He was part of the organizational transformation of the company from a Project-based set-up to a Production / Commercial based structure and implemented an 'Integrated Planning and Scheduling Department' in which he optimized the value chain (Buy-Gas - Liquify Gas to LNG - Sell - Ship LNG). Staff competence management was one of his focus areas during this period. He was also the NLNG representative on JV Technical, Commercial, Shipping Committees where he interfaced with Government &amp; Regulatory authorities.</p>
<p>In 2014, he was appointed as Shell Shareholder representative to NLNG and became a Non-Executive Board member to NLNG companies, including Bonny Gas Transport (BGT) managing 24 LNG Ships. During this period, he was involved in the Economic and Technical steering of the Shipping Fleet and Liquefaction Plant Rejuvenation projects and a further capacity expansion of liquefaction plant which resulted in the achievement of NLNG train 7 project FID in 2019.</p>
<p>Since 2016, he has been active as an independent consultant. He co-authored 2 patents and more than 30 published papers/presentations. He holds a PhD from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and a MSc and BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK.</p>

<p>Your expert course leader has been involved in the Oil and Gas industry for over 28 years in several different roles commencing as a second deck officer on FPSO's and moving through the industry from deck officer to Master, OIM and Field Superintendent. He has also been in charge of semisubmersible and fixed production platforms as field superintendent before moving ashore into senior management roles. On completion of industry specific activities, he moved to teaching roles at South Tyneside Maritime College in the department of marine and simulation and presented live courses to maritime students from cadet to Master. </p>
<p>Prior to returning to Perth in March 2019, he was training manager for a subsidiary of Gaz Transport and Technigaz of France. He has a Master Class 1 certificate with endorsements for hazardous cargoes and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration as well as multiple course certificates required to operate FPSO's, platforms and semisubmersible facilities. He has been involved in the preparation of national standards for Safety Cases (Australia); Designing and structural setup of competency-based training systems in South East Asia. He was also involved in the development of minimum standards, competency profiles position based and preparation and implementation of training plans to ensure competency in the local staff in Asian operations. He was part of the development team for minimum standards of offshore safety in Australian offshore operations including the implementation of the Common Safety Training Program (CSTP). <p>Later, he joined the academic staff of University of Liverpool in the UK as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering Courses. He has supervised doctoral research students in this area in collaboration with various European flowmeter manufacturers.</p>

<p>Your expert course leader is a Senior Mechanical &amp; Instrumentation Engineer (UK, B. Sc., M.Eng., Ph D) with over 45 years of industrial experience in Process Control &amp; Instrumentation, Pumps, Compressors, Turbines and Control Valve Technology. He is currently a Senior Independent Consultant to various petrochemical industries in the UK, USA, Oman, Kuwait and KSA where he provides consultancy services on both the application and operational constraints of process equipment in the oil &amp; gas industries.</p>
<p>During his early career, he held key positions in Rolls Royce (UK) where he was involved in the design of turbine blading for jet engines, subject to pre-specified distributions of pressure. During this period and since, he has also been closely involved in various aspects of Turbomachinery, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics where he has become a recognised authority in these areas.</p>
<p>Later, he joined the academic staff of University of Liverpool in the UK as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering Courses. A substantial part of his work has been concerned with detailed aspects of Flowmetering - both of single &amp; multiphase flows. He has supervised doctoral research students in this area in collaboration with various European flowmeter manufacturers.</p>
<p>He joined Haward Technology Middle East in 2002 and was later appointed as European Manager (a post which has since lapsed) and has delivered over 150 training courses in Flowmeasurement (single- and multi-phase), Control, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Turbines, Compressors, Valve and Valve Selection as well as other topics throughout the UK, USA, Oman and Kuwait. During the last two years, he has delivered courses with other training companies operating in the Far and Middle East.</p>
<p>He has published about 150 papers in various Engineering Journals and International Conferences and has contributed to textbooks on the topics listed above.</p>

Our PRP (Vampire Facials) Course trains you in the harvesting, preparation and treatment of PRP for application to your clients as required. We offer both classroom and virtual classroom options for this course and a comprehensive Practise@Home Training Kit is provided for our virtual classroom option. Both options are accredited at Foundation Degree Level.

This official BRCGS course enables participants with an in-depth understanding of the Standard in terms of the protocol, requirements and how to audit effectively. Participants will gain competency to assess compliance to the requirements of the Standard, including fundamental clauses, statements of intent, how to undertake a BRCGS audit, planning of the audit and reporting of the audit. Auditing fundamentals and techniques will be discussed including the auditor competency skills required of auditors auditing against Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised certification programmes.
Active learning will be used throughout the course utilising case study-based activities to encourage critical thinking and help explain how auditors with audit against the Standard. Participants must have a working knowledge of quality management systems and auditing within the relevant manufacturing sector, and have completed a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) course of at least two days' duration.
In preparation for the course, participants must read and review a copy of the Standard including the glossary, which is available as a free download from the BRCGS Store, in addition to the pre-course materials provided. 
At the end of the course you will be assessed with an exam. Successful completion of this course, including the exam, forms part of the training necessary to become a BRCGS auditor. The steps necessary to complete your training must be arranged with a BRCGS-approved certification body.
