Attachment-Led Theory and Practice for Parental Alienation - CPD Certification

By Child and Family Trauma Training

PARENTAL ALIENATION IS A COMPLICATED, PROBLEMATIC, SPECIALIST AREA OF MENTAL HEALTH, FAMILY FUNCTIONING, SOCIAL POLICY AND LAW. Child Attachment and Family Trauma Training (CAFTT) is committed to providing modern, professional grade training in attachment/ neuropsychology, focusing on improving family functioning, professional practice, outcomes related to child development and family welfare. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ATTACHMENT-LED THEORY & PRACTICE FOR PARENTAL ALIENATION Parental alienation disrupts attachments, psycho-developmental prospects, and quality of life for hundreds of thousands of children and families. CAFTT's CPD accredited parental alienation training provides intensive, self-paced learning and multiple-choice assessment to achieve Certification in Attachment-Led Theory and Practice in Parental Alienation.     PA1’s intensive and CPD-accredited parental alienation training updates typical approaches with modern attachment, family systems, and neuropsychology. Parental alienation’s vulnerabilities, triggers, strategies, behaviours, and incremental impacts on children's psychological functioning into adulthood are detailed across 16 lectures spanning 13.5 hours of learning.    Currently, there appears to be little or no other accredited training in the UK. PA1 is aimed at providing an empirically structured, open access route to understanding parental alienation, and earning Continued Professional   Development accreditation points in this complicated and specialist field.   The process of alienation and its stages are explained in detail, alongside how each stage impacts on children and other family members. The incremental results for children and other family members are provided in short, medium and long-term form.     PA1 draws on the best practice and advice of some of the world’s top experts. Your course tutors years of interaction with the UK’s family court system corroborates and compliments the established observational literature with an aetiological perspective using updated attachment, neuropsychology and child development approaches. Parental alienation is one of many types of damaging parental manipulation. And often, the manipulation and persuasion of child professionals. Understanding the processes and results of parental alienation may raise awareness and identification of other types of abuse inflicted on children and concealed by manipulation of victims and professionals. Importantly, PA1 addresses, in detail, the pathogenesis of many mental health disorders arising from family interactions. Much family pathology is trans-generational, meaning some children may be born to endure long-lasting psychological distress, in the absence of informed assessment, identification and intervention.   The course has more than 13.5 hours of intensive instruction across 16 lectures, making PA1 outstanding value for money. Obtaining the same level of knowledge from other sources would, we suggest, be far more time consuming and expensive. Each lecture is arranged around addressing parental alienation as a mental health problem for the whole family unit, focusing on processes and outcomes for each family member.   The lectures are dual-designed as standalone references for a fully informed presentation on important topics and to incrementally develop knowledge, not just of parental alienation but the various issues parents and professionals encounter when in the difficult position of facing, or being tasked to assist, where this type of parental manipulation may be ongoing.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? * Teachers  * Safeguarding Leads * Medical Professionals * Police  * Mental Health Workers  * Any Judicial Authority  * Domestic Violence Workers * Parents & Family Members wishing CPD * Child Welfare Officers  * Social Workers  * Family Liaison Workers  * Judges  * Children's Guardians * Therapists  * Psychologists  * Community workers * Family Law Professionals -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HERE IS WHAT YOU GET: * Full course access without restrictions * Structured training videos * All Downloadable learning PDF & PABs checklist materials * Assessments throughout the course * 18 CPD Points upon successful completion of the assessments * Continued Professional Development Certification

The Slynn Foundation

the slynn foundation

London

Created in 1998 on the initiative of His Hon George Dobry CBE QC to fulfil a growing need for support, advice and training to young lawyers from countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Foundation was named after Lord Slynn of Hadley, formerly the British judge at the European Court of Justice and then a law lord, in recognition of his contribution to the development of the principles and practice of European Law in its broadest sense. Between 1999 and 2004, under the leadership of Lord Slynn, the Foundation organised two-day or three-day workshops, mainly in the ten states which were to join the European Union in 2004. These workshops were mostly concerned with EU law and practice, but some of them touched on human rights law. There were also mutual exchange visits, funded by the former British Association for Central and Eastern Europe, between senior judges and senior court administrators in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria and their counterparts in this country. In addition the Foundation organised a prestigious annual lecture on a Europe-related topic, and brought one young lawyer each year to London for nine months for a mix of experience gained from attending academic lectures, working in City solicitors’ firms and barristers’ chambers and meeting senior members of the judiciary. Because public funding for these activities dried up after 2004 and the Foundation was unable to secure alternative sources of funds, its activities were steadily reduced between 2004 and 2009 (the year when Lord Slynn died). However since 2009, the Foundation has widened its purpose, and is steadily reasserting its influence as the principal exporter of British judicial know how to an international audience.

The other route was through being a patient, a parent of children with disabilities and a family carer, and witnessing how difficult it can be to make plans for the future when the present involves difficult discussions and many people. I aim to be thoroughly supportive, reassuring and encouraging at all times. My professional work and personal experience in health and social care mean that I am particularly experienced in supporting people who are living with any form of illness, disability, mental health condition or life-limiting condition. I have particular personal experience of working with people who are deaf or hearing impaired, on the autism spectrum, experiencing mental illness and living with dementia or stroke. Why I love being a mediator I came to mediation through a confluence of circumstances which made me think, ‘There must be a better way for people to deal with their difficulties than to threaten legal action, or refuse to engage in communication at all!’ I realised that a great deal of my management consultancy work was really… conflict resolution. It gave me such pleasure and relief when long-held rifts within and between teams melted away after some good, authentic communication. This piqued my interest to find out more about the art of conflict resolution, and I did my first certificated training, and started practising as a community mediator. Later I qualified as a civil and employment mediator, and have been mediating ever since. It’s astonishing to witness people’s lives turn from a turmoil of distressing, intractable ‘stuckness’, to a new phase in which, for example, neighbours can conceive of greeting each other again; or work colleagues re-establish trust between each other after maybe years of mistrust, stress and non-communication. Mediation takes empathy, patience and persistence, and it is a skill I will develop and hone endlessly over years to come, but its core aspect is a belief that people really can find peace again, given the right support and a safe space to explore options for settling differences. Facilitating such processes is a real honour. Nothing beats the sight of former disputants smiling, shaking hands, or even (more often than you would think) hugging, at the end of a mediation.
