Are you a newbie budding potter or a ceramic artist who&rsquo;s got a bit stuck in a rut or a bit bored of applying basic glazing ?&nbsp;Then this course will open up a whole new world to you of pottery/ ceramic surface decoration techniques. &nbsp;As a ceramic artist, I love to work with many techniques, often in an experimental and rule breaking way !&nbsp;Over the course of the day, we will learn about making and using our own products, explore the wide and varied ways they can be incorporated into your work. We will cover underglazes and how to use them to create water colour washes as well as details and bright colourful designs. We will discuss how to choose appropriate ways to glaze and finish your work and appropriate firing schedules and temperatures. You will have ample opportunity for experimentation as well as demonstrations and guidance throughout. &nbsp;We will not be distracted by handbuilding pieces, as we will be focused on trying lots of surface effects, which you can then incorporate into your own ceramic work&hellip;&hellip;&hellip;.&nbsp;You will be encouraged to get jiggy and ignite your creative flow in a fun, relaxed and informal atmosphere.&nbsp;We will break for refreshments and lunch. &nbsp;Bring along your packed lunch. Hot drinks and biscuits/ cake will be available. Gluten / dairy free / vegan snacks on request.&nbsp;

After lunch you will use colours to bring it to life.&nbsp;We will take you through the project step-by-step, to create your dream fairy house with moulds, stamps and free-hand making. Using all of your fairy imagination, after a break for lunch we will decorate and add underglazes. &nbsp;Your fairy houses will stay with us for the kiln firing and glazing process and will be ready to collect in approx 3 weeks. Your finished piece could have the addition of an led light when you take it home, so you will see that the fairy folk have moved in ❣️We&rsquo;re so excited to share this wonderful, creative workshop with you x dust off your fairy wings and get out your wands ready for a magical experience.&nbsp;Suitable for clay newbies and those wishing to expand their handbuilding ceramics skills.
