More and more businesses realise the importance of that sentence and encourage their employees to learn a foreign language. Lingua Diversa Group (LDG) was formed in 2002 by Esther Sahagun and Lucio Daniele, two language teachers who until then had enjoyed an extensive and fulfilling time in teaching Spanish and Italian to both adults and children. Lingua Diversa Group provide Language Training in Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, English, Polish, Chinese (Mandarin) and Japanese at all levels. Other languages available on request. Lessons can take place either at your offices or at our premises anytime Monday to Saturday. We have been running language courses in many companies in the London area (e.g. management consulting firms, financial companies, marketing agencies, sports companies, oil companies). We pride ourselves in providing our clients with not only a professional and friendly service but also with affordable language lessons. All our tutors are qualified native teachers with extensive experience. The method we use is known as “the communicative approach” where the emphasis is always on the speaking and understanding of the language. Our aim is to provide the students with the language tools needed for real life interaction. Our Spanish director Esther Sahagun and some of her students participated in the BBC online Spanish course for beginners, winner of the BAFTA AWARDS 2009 for the Interactive Innovation Category. The Mother Tongue & Supplementary Schools Partnership (MTSSP) arose from a 'review of supplementary and mother tongue education in the London Borough of Islington', (Dec. 2001), conducted by the African Schools Association on behalf of the Supplementary Schools Support Service. The report stated that the ' education department benefits from an active, enthusiastic, diverse and well-established body of supplementary and mother tongue providers'. A key strength of our sector is the strong community base in which our organisations reside. However, the review revealed the need for support and development of ' specific quality assurance systems, training, funding of MTSSP providers and the development of more formal links with the statutory sector'. The positive response to the review led to the decision to develop a more formal structure. Since then we have adopted a constitution, with clear objects and have a management committee. In terms of achievement, the MTSSP partnership is on the cusp of realising one of our objectives, namely that of establishing formal links with the mainstream school sector. We continue to receive great support from London Borough of Islington.

Thanks so much for visiting! I’m Laura - founder and owner of Gray & Greenery. I set up the business in 2017, after training as a florist (as a second - or third in fact - career, once I worked out that PR and then accounting were not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life…) and working for a beautiful florist & garden centre in London. The business has evolved over time of course - it started as a flower truck, with a pitch in Tooting in south west London, which still feels very much like Gray & Greenery’s birthplace. To be honest the location was a fluke - I searched for suitable trading pitches for a while, with the plan of setting up at weekends with my little flowery van stuffed with blooms - and Tooting is what came up. But what a brilliant fluke it was - SW17 is a wonderful hub of brilliant small, entrepreneurial businesses, and I met gorgeous fellow business owners and a lovely load of customers, many of whom still order from me today.

The Eileen Rowe Musical Trust has been set up in memory of one of the UK’s finest and most naturally gifted piano teachers. Miss Eileen Rowe (1914 – 2008) was born in the London Borough of Ealing, remaining to live and work there for the rest of her life. Not many piano teachers in the UK could match the influence of Miss Rowe, a leading light in the music profession for some 75 years. She gave a lifetime of service to the training of students of all ages, but gained a nationwide reputation as a specialist in inspiring young people from the very first piano lesson until they went on to college or university. As well as teaching the piano, she trained and encouraged young teachers at the beginning of their careers (many of them former pupils of hers), by forming the Eileen Rowe Pianoforte School. Miss Rowe’s legacy to the music world, the Eileen Rowe Musical Trust, supports young pianists under 21 years of age from the London Borough of Ealing, as she wished.

The multi award-winning Manhood Academy for Boys was birthed by 8 men who shared a single vision. Following a trip to Gambia by 4 of the co-founders of Manhood Academy, in February 2016 a community call out brought them together in the same room, meeting at an Ethiopian restaurant in South London. At the end of the round table meeting they unanimously chose to “Be the change we wish to see in the world” by collectively establishing The Manhood Academy.Each founder previously holding a distinguished track record in youth work, from a BAFA award winning senior educator to working on the streets of London with urban youth. The Manhood Academy officially launched to the community at Park View Academy, London on October 15th, 2016.A curriculum was co-designed from the collective wealth of experience of the founders, and the nameManhood Academy, Womanhood Academy & Parenthood Academy were coined. Established under the umbrella (CIC) community interest company name: Lifehood Academy on 15 May 2017. The Manhood Academy program was implemented with the intention of exposing our young people to character building experiences, tests and master classes.All geared towards shifting young people’s paradigm, from the chronic news headlines, school disenfranchisement and stereotypes some of our young people manifest as a self-fulfilling prophecy.
