The School Council represent the children's voice, giving all pupils at Over Hall the chance to share their ideas and have a say. We encourage everyone to think of great ideas to help the school to become even more effective and demonstrate our values at every opportunity. Last year, the School Council analysed the feedback of pupils and staff and actioned improvements including the implementation of a house system. We raised money to improve the equipment available for the children during playtimes which included sports and gym equipment and the installation of cycle and scooter racks to encourage our children to ride to school.

Make CIC sits firmly at the heart of the city’s creative and maker scene, where we’ve worked to support artists, makers and small businesses since 2012. Growing from the Baltic Triangle, Make encompasses creative space in Elevator Studios – where we run a hub for small businesses and makers to grow and develop projects and ideas – with 18,000 square feet of maker space on Regent Street, amidst the growing cultural cluster of Liverpool’s north docks. Make is the culmination of nine years of research, planning and development from directors Kirsten Little and Liam Kelly. We combine, arts, textiles, education and mentoring backgrounds with our own experiences of running a business, to plug gaps in resources and provide support we struggled to find when we were setting up our own business. At the North Docks, we’re housed slap bang in the middle of the city’s spiritual engine room, where things have been made and fixed for hundreds of years. You can also find the best coffee in the city region at Make North Docks, with Caffé Riccardo based in our atrium. Our newest and third venture in Wirral’s Grade I listed Hamilton Square, Make Hamilton, is a creative community hub and makerspace with affordable workspace, a café and a meeting space, and – at the heart of it all – a community garden. Our two venues are open to members, residents and the public. We’re a place to work from, run workshops, events, and exhibitions; we’re a space for workers, makers, students and tutors; for artist’s talks and creative events; celebrations, launches, meetings and exhibitions. We have a strong sense of our place and pride in our work here in the Liverpool City Region. We believe in self-sufficiency and sustainability, and aim to remove barriers to people joining the economy by making things themselves, or starting their own business and becoming self-sufficient. An Inclusive Future CIC is a small not-for-profit organisation with big ideas to make a positive difference working with local communities. AIF CIC Directors have extensive professional experience (through previous and existing external paid roles) of effectively engaging with communities facing a wide range of disadvantage and barriers to social inclusion. AIF CIC has to date been involved in a wide range of projects including Peer Mentoring and Social Care Support Plans in West Lancashire. Due to the professional experiences and values of the Directors, AIF CIC is now very keen to broaden its support services due to the clearly growing local community need and the increasingly negative impact of economic austerity and cuts in public services. AIF CIC also believes the organisation can offer a very flexible approach to working with different communities of interest, as the Directors collectively have extensive experience working with children and families, vulnerable adults, adults with mental health difficulties, ex-offenders and prisons, unpaid carers.

Cheshire Woodworking was established in 2012 by Ciarán Ó Braonáin, a furniture designer and woodwork teacher from Dublin, Ireland. Ciarán’s passion for hand-crafted woodwork has inspired beautiful pieces for shooting, home and hospitality for clients across Cheshire and the UK. From his workshop on the Sandstone Trail in rural Cheshire, Ciarán specialises in combining hand-crafted techniques with new, precision technology thanks to the EU LEADER Fund investment. Seeking out the finest raw materials, including high-grade woods, feathers and leathers, he works closely with clients to understand their ideas and uses his expertise to create unique pieces tailor-made to their requirements. Ciaran's expertise was recently called upon by the BBC for their latest hit television series, Jay's Yorkshire Workshop. The show, on BBC2, involved Ciaran and two other experts, along with their two apprentices, designing and creating bespoke wooden gifts for individuals or organisations nominated for their acts of kindness in the community.
