We are a approved local authority centre also members of the British Horse Society, The Pony Club, British Riding Club, We are also a RDA Centre (Riding for the Disabled ). Our Friendly instructors are fully Qualified to give our customers the best experience possible our aim is to teach thoroughly and build skills progressively but always through enjoyment and fun.

We are a vibrant community centre in Little Horton, just outside Bradford city centre. Based in the beautiful All Saints Church opposite St Luke’s Hospital, The Landmark Centre offers a wide range of activities and training opportunities to the people of the area. We currently run projects supporting disabled children and tackling digital exclusion, in particular helping people look for work online. Previous projects have worked with young families, refugees, and the elderly. We are an inclusive and welcoming charity which aims to improve the life chances of local people. In 2001 the Landmark Centre was established by All Saints Church, Little Horton, as a company limited by guarantee for the purpose of running community activities within the Church. It is a registered charity. Landmark uses meeting rooms within the body of the church, including a large meeting room, suitable for seated groups of 25-30, a smaller room currently rented out as an office, a kitchen, a converted chapel which is now the IT room and a vestry for smaller groups. Part of the nave has been cleared of pews and is available as open dance and drama space. Although founded by the Church, the Centre is open to all, and our users are of different faith traditions. Landmark has a Christian ethos, whilst being an equal opportunities employer.

ravensthorpe community centre

The organisation was set up in 2000 as an independent charity to run a community facility. Since then it has gone from strength to strength by expanding the space available for activities and delivering its own services such as childcare, adult learning health and well-being projects. Outline below is our story: 1999 - In 1999, with the closure and demolition of the Foundry Street youth club, a meeting was held by representatives of local Ravensthorpe based community groups about the possibility of acquiring a building for general community use. After many meetings and discussions between them and Kirklees Council, it was agreed that if representatives could come together to form a group, Kirklees Council would support them in acquiring and running a community building through available European SRB Grant funding. With St Johns Ambulance Centre looking for new premises their building came up for sale, it was purchased by the newly formed group in 1999 and renamed as the Ravensthorpe Community Centre. 2000 - The building underwent a series of alterations to make it more suitable for use as a community centre, the building had disabled ramps put in and the rooms were changed to make then suitable for community use. In May 2000 the building was officially opened by Mayor of Kirkless. The building subsequently became very popular with regular users such as a wide range of community groups, the local further education college holding learning classes and a local provider delivering crèche facilities.
