This practical and fun course enables participants to fully explore the essential camera and Photoshop skills you need to produce stunning digital photographs. Experienced tutor Kat Gollock helps you harness your creative potential in four engaging and empowering sessions. De-mystify the technical jargon and unlock your DSLR camera&rsquo;s full potential. Learn Photoshop from a photographer&rsquo;s perspective and the essential skills you need to really make your images shine.If you don&rsquo;t have a digital SLR we can often provide one for you &ndash; please let us know at time of booking to confirm. You can also use your interchangeable or fixed lens system, mirrorless or rangefinder camera on this course.Bridge cameras without interchangeable lenses can be used too, but please note that they may not allow the full range of camera controls.Computer experience is beneficial.Week 1:&nbsp;Camera You will be guided through the manual settings of your Digital SLR camera, fully exploring how to capture light and time in a single image. Learn how to generate accurate exposures through aperture, shutter speed and ISO control and how/when to apply them creatively. We&rsquo;ll explore some of the other digital settings that are key to understanding and building your confidence with your own camera.Week 2:&nbsp;Creating Put into practice all the camera features discussed and demonstrated in Week 1 on a walk around town. FD&FA BS5839-1 RQF Certified 5-Day Combined Course - 2 Part Course

This one-day workshop will introduce you to the history and development of still life and product photography and its use in commerce and fine art. We will look at the work of historical and contemporary practitioners leading to a practical demonstration of still life photography, encompassing the relevant lighting, styling and composition. The day will include a simple product photography and lighting session exploring camera techniques and equipment you can use to create your own images.Please bring along a small object you would like to photograph as part of the day.Morning The day will start with an introduction to the still life genre, looking at its development through photography both as a commercial and artistic tool. We&rsquo;ll then build and light a still life setup &ndash; providing guidance and examples of different lighting techniques, composition and styling skills.Afternoon The afternoon will focus on product photography and lighting for sales. This will include information on equipment and technical requirements, along with some handy tips, tricks and hacks! We&rsquo;ll also demonstrate &lsquo;Focus Stacking&rsquo; &ndash; an advanced technique for combining multiple images. The day will conclude with a practical session, where you will get a chance to work in small groups to photograph the objects you have brought in, we&rsquo;ll also provide some sample objects if required. This is a great opportunity to put the day&rsquo;s learning into practice with our tutor&rsquo;s support on hand.Project Days are designed for those who are already familiar with some digital photography processes but who want to pursue a particular aspect and develop skills in a specific genre. Immerse yourself in mosaic making on this introductory workshop with Jacky Cox from Mossy Mosaic.On this introduction to mosaic making workshop you will create two mosaics using vitreous (&#39;swimming pool&#39;) tiles, learning methods you can do at home. You will begin by designing, cutting your tiles and making a beautiful hanging heart. While the glue is drying ready for grouting, Jacky will show you how to create a simple, non-grouted drinks coaster.You will learn about how to mosaic safely, how to cut tiles using a wheeled nipper, explore design ideas and grout your hanging heart.You will take home two finished mosaic pieces, and have learned all you need to know to start your mosaicing journey.Mosaicing fits in perfectly with our vision of a world where recycling, repurposing and upcycling is the norm. Jacky works with a variety of materials including glass, recycled crockery and natural materials like slate and sea glass. Immerse yourself in mosaic making on this introductory workshop with Jacky Cox from Mossy Mosaic.
On this introduction to mosaic making workshop you will create two mosaics using vitreous ('swimming pool') tiles, learning methods you can do at home. You will begin by designing, cutting your tiles and making a beautiful hanging heart. While the glue is drying ready for grouting, Jacky will show you how to create a simple, non-grouted drinks coaster.
You will learn about how to mosaic safely, how to cut tiles using a wheeled nipper, explore design ideas and grout your hanging heart.
You will take home two finished mosaic pieces, and have learned all you need to know to start your mosaicing journey.
Mosaicing fits in perfectly with our vision of a world where recycling, repurposing and upcycling is the norm. Jacky works with a variety of materials including glass, recycled crockery and natural materials like slate and sea glass. How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 each) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. Training kits mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video instructions, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.
