<p>Governments, regulators and energy companies are pursuing CO<sub>2</sub> storage technologies to meet their net-zero carbon commitments as well as targets set by the international Paris Agreement on climate change. For successfully executing Carbon Capture &amp; Storage (CCS) projects, various technical, operational, economic and environmental risks and associated stakeholders need to be managed.</p>
<p>In this <strong>5 half-day Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course</strong>, the methods for managing risk in CCS projects are addressed <u>with a focus on CO<sub>2 </sub>injection and storage.</u> The VILT course will also demonstrate how to assess storage capacity of a potential CO<sub>2</sub> storage reservoir, model framing techniques, and well injectivity issues related to CO<sub>2</sub> injection. The potential leak paths will be discussed such as reservoir seals, leakage along faults and aspects of well integrity. <p>This VILT course is built around cases in which teams work to identify and assess CO2 storage site issues using a systematic thought approach in this course. In addition, exercises are used to practise the aspects of the CCS risk assessment process. <p>Your expert course leader has more than 36 years of experience in the oil &amp; gas industry with Shell. He gained broad experience in petroleum engineering, with expertise in integrated production systems from subsurface, wells and surface. He has had assignments in Production Technology, R&amp;D, Production Chemistry, Rock Mechanics and Reservoir Engineering cEOR, with a proven track record in technology screening, development and deployment, field development planning, conceptual well design and Production System Optimization (PSO) of gas and oil fields as well as preparing Well, Reservoir &amp; Facility Management (WRFM) strategies and plans. He had also worked on assignments in NAM and did fieldwork in Oman, Gabon and Shell Nigeria. He is a skilled workshop facilitator. He discovered his passion for teaching following an assignment in Shell Learning. During his time in Shell, he developed and taught technical courses to Shell professionals via blended learning.</p>

<p>Your second expert course leader has over 30 years of experience identifying, assessing and mitigating technical risks with Shell. The main focal point of his experience is in subsurface and Geomechanical risks. He is the the founding father of various innovations in how we assess risks by tool development (for bore hole stability, 3D geomechanical field evaluations and probabilistic assessment). He also developed an eye for people motivation, change management and facilitation. He was also responsible for the Geomechanical competence framework, and associated virtual and classroom training programme in Shell for 10 years.</p>

<p>Your third expert course leader has more than 30 years of experience in Shell, focusing on research and development in drilling and offshore systems. How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

OR -

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 each) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. The equipment and supplies included in your kits are the same as those used if you choose the classroom option.

You will receive a voucher code to enable you to book onto any upcoming dates or locations. For most of our two day course we run our competency training at the end of the second day and therefore you should be able to complete your full training programme with us over two days.

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) formerly known as PTLLS, has been designed to introduce teaching for individuals who aspire or currently work in adult education. Online Remote Tutor-led Sessions

This version of the course allows you to attend two days of online sessions led by an experienced tutor. Then come back online 2-3 weeks later to deliver your micro-teach session to your peers. Louise Buckley  has worked in publishing for well over a decade. She was inspired to enter the publishing industry after completing an MA in Creative Writing and then spent a hugely enjoyable year working as a bookseller for Waterstones, wishing that she could have a hand in publishing books.
After a year working at Dorling Kindersley, she then spent almost five years working in the commercial fiction division at Pan Macmillan, where she published a mix of commercial bestsellers and award-winning authors.
Most recently, she was an Associate Literary Agent at Zeno Agency Ltd. As an agent she represented a roster of commercial and literary fiction, including Anne Griffin’s When All is Said, which spent five weeks at number one in Ireland and sold into 17 territories.

Louise is especially interested in novels that represent working-class people or children going through difficult circumstances (think Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart, My Name is Leon by Kit de Waal or Boys Don’t Cry by FÍona Scarlett).
Irish literary and book club fiction. Think Claire Keegan, Louise Kennedy or Anne Griffin.
In commercial fiction she loves novels set during the Second World War, such as The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christi Lefteri or The Midwife of Auschwitz by Anna Stuart. Louise recently read and loved The Last List of Mabel Beaumont by Laura Pearson and would love to see anything in the same ‘older person going on a journey’ category, a more recent The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
Louise had a lot of fun publishing a ‘pet fiction’ novel as an editor (Molly and the Cat Café) and would love to find an author who can write an Alfie the Doorstep Cat/Dog.
She has a soft spot for novels featuring time-travel or parallel universes, a ‘what if’ that plays around with conventions. At the literary end this would be books like Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes or This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. At the more commercial end Louise loved Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister, Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and Oona Out of Order by Martina Montimore. She also enjoys novels set in the real world but featuring a hefty dose of magic or the supernatural. They can be commercial or literary, present-day or historical. Think Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch, Threadneedle by Cari Thomas, A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness or The Gifts by Liz Hyder. And also cosy fantasy in the vein of Legends and Lattes or The House in the Cerulean Sea.
Cosy or humorous crime. Recently, Louise absolutely loved Over My Dead Body by Maz Evans. When she was an editor Louise published the hit Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll and would love to represent incisive, intelligent suspense written by authors such as Jessica Knoll and Gillian Flynn, or something a little more subversive and blackly comic like My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite.
More generally, Louise would also love to see novels with a disabled protagonist or someone (like myself) who is living with an invisible disability. As an ex-primary school teacher, she also warmly welcomes submissions from teachers, especially if the submission falls into one of the other categories she has listed. Following-on from this, she enjoys reading stories that follow a ‘beating the system’ narrative.

If you are a Mental Health First Aider or MHFA Champion you have skills for life that support you and the people around you. Mental Health First Aid training can be kept up to date through this four hour MHFA Refresher course, which will empower you to: Update your knowledge of mental health and what influences it Update your awareness of current mental health supports available Practise applying the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan. Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. We limit numbers to 20 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported, to get the most from their learning experience with us.
This course is for those that have completed the MHFA England Mental Health First Aid or Champion course.
