The course will concentrate on the important aspects of completion design and what makes a safe and efficient well.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">A common thread of practical examples will be used throughout the course in the form of a case study or &#39;red-thread&#39; exercise. The case study is based around data all taken from a single field where those attending will work through all the basic issues of a completion design. The exercises associated with the case study is performed in the student&#39;s own time after each of the formal sessions. However, at the start of the next day, the case study is reviewed and discussed. The whole case study will continue through all sessions, with each element being reviewed at the start of the next session. There is no &#39;right&#39; answer to the exercise - producing interesting discussions!</p>

He has over 30 years of industry experience, specializing in gas processing (pipeline hydraulics, separation, dehydration, treating, sulphur recovery and refrigeration processes) and also has experience with crude oil dehydration, stabilization and micro-refining topping plants. He has experience with developing new technology and is recently involved in lithium, waste biomass and used motor oil pyrolysis and geothermal projects. He has recognized expertise in thermodynamics and physical and transport properties of fluids. He has consulted for several EPC and operating companies through his company Chem-Pet Process Tech., and currently holds the role of Director of Technology in an integrated engineering and solutions provider to the energy industry. He is currently involved with a small power-based carbon capture project as well as helping clients determine the best options for utilities decisions. He has been involved with CO2 dehydration and CO2 flood gas treating as well as acid gas injection projects for several years.</p>

Carbonate sequences are developed under the control not only of physical but also biological parameters and results in a variety of geometries that vary greatly in 3D. These intervals are also strongly affected by shallow to deep burial diagenetic process that modify the reservoir properties of the different facies and impact on the geometries and distribution of reservoir facies. Finally carbonate sequences are also often affected by fault and fracturing that strongly control the circulation of fluids within these sequences. Seismic can be often an excellent tool to map the different depositional settings and to understand the distribution, vertical and lateral variability of good reservoir intervals.<br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">This course introduces to the complexity associated to carbonate sequences and the best way to characterize them using 2D and 3D seismic.
