A SPECIALISED DRAMA COURSE FOR 11-21 YEAR OLDS, LED BY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In2Drama’s signature course is our Summer Academy for young aspiring performers wishing to carve out a career in the performing arts, or simply to explore a new hobby. Our action-packed 5 day course includes over 35 hours of masterclasses taught by industry professionals, and ends with a live public performance in front of peers and parents.  Whether you’re an experienced performer and need to be pushed outside of your comfort zone, or are nervous to step out in front of an audience for the first time, we can help you increase your confidence and have you performing with ease! Monday 22nd - Friday 26th July 2024 The Academy takes place in Cranleigh Arts Centre, around 20 minutes from Guildford. The venue has a professional theatre, a sprung dance floor for choreography sessions, dressing rooms, and lots of great areas for filming and multimedia activities, so it's the perfect spot for our aspiring performers to learn in. ‍ WHO IS IT FOR? Whether you’re simply interested in making new friends and having fun over summer, or you’re an aspiring performer with the goal of attending drama school or casting call auditions, we’re here to help make your dreams a reality. 11-15 year olds: Ready for an amazing summer of making friends, learning new performing skills and putting on a real show? Our lower age group offers all of the below modules with a focus on developing skills, having fun with friends and performing for family. 16-21 year olds: This group is suitable for 16-21 year olds who would like a future in the performing arts. While still suitable for those who want to have fun, the courses will be focused on perfecting audition skills for casting calls and drama school applications. ‍ WHAT YOU’LL LEARN You can benefit from over 35 hours of masterclasses in acting, singing, dance, audition skills, music production, technical theatre and film production, all taught by industry professionals, with modules tailored to your learning goals. A showreel allows them to see you in action through a series of short video clips.  While taking part in the Academy, you will have the chance to purchase optional headshots and a showreel to showcase your talents. Our team will help you capture the very best bits of your performances and a brilliant headshot that you can use to apply for future castings and opportunities. Do you have a little one that loves dancing, singing & acting? Why not book them a place at one of our BP Theatre Camps this holiday?   Struggling to think of ways to keep the kids entertained? BP to the rescue! Your children will learn new skills, be engaged, make new friends and most importantly….have BAGS OF FUN!   Our camp offers the children a chance to build their confidence in a friendly environment. We encourage kids to be their best not the best. How does the day run? We start the day with our welcome talk & ice breaker games – this is a great way for the children to ease into the day and get to know each other. Once we have made some new friends we move onto livening up our bodies with dance, after this energetic session we take a well deserved morning break. Singing is up next followed by lunch – a much needed chance to refuel after a very busy morning. The afternoon then consists of drama tasks, arts & crafts, afternoon break and plenty of games.   Each session (dance, singing & drama) consist of a warm up, technique and working towards a final piece that we complete by the end of the day.   Our aim is for each child to leave daily with the biggest smile on their face and feeling proud of what they’ve achieved.

Peter is the Theatre Manager for Cranleigh Schools and has worked as the Technical Manager producing shows and events for Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, as well as touring with Encore Dance Company. This specialised course gives students a glimpse behind the curtains at the theatre, and the basic skills they need to work in this industry. It's perfect for anyone who wants to work in crucial behind-the-scenes roles in theatre, as each day contains practical training on subjects like lighting, design, sound, projection, setup and operation. In fact, you'll be taught the process of putting on a show, and get hands-on experience when you use what you've learned to run the technical side of the live shows at the end of the Academy! ‍ WHEN AND WHERE? “Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue.” - Plato -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Singing and Audition Masterclass is one of the highlights of the Academy, and an incredible learning opportunity for anyone looking to improve their singing, get started in musical theatre, and perfect audition pieces in order to start attending casting calls or applying to drama schools. The 2-day Masterclass is taught by two amazing tutors: Kath Harman - Kath studied Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy in London, and her career highlights include performing with Dua Lipa at the Brit Awards, and travelling the world with Carnival Cruise Line. Emma Hatton - Emma graduated from LSMT and her big break came in 2009 when she made her West End debut - originating the role of Donna in Dreamboats and Petticoats. Following this triumph, she was cast in We Will Rock You as an understudy for the roles of Scarmouche and Meat. Emma has also played Elphaba in Wicked and has a variety of other on-stage credits. Whatever your experience level, this brilliant course will help you break out of your comfort zone in a supportive environment and walk away with an audition toolkit that you can use to start applying to further education or working in the industry. While the focus of this course is musical theatre, you can choose to work on songs outside of this genre if you like.
