I am Felicia and I am the founder of Shimmering Light. I have learnt a few of holistic therapies, such as Reiki, crystal healing. As well as mediumship and psychic art. I have recently created an online Holistic shop, as part of Shimmering Light umbrella. I am pretty sure that this path found me more than once. But only until am i ready for this journey. Lessons learned? I don’t know, but what I do know is, is that I’m still learning. Just like you are. From when I was young, I was surrounded by the spirit world, essential oils, reiki and crystals. My Mum, learned Reiki and worked with essential oils. Both sides of my family have the intuitive gift, see Spirit and have a knowing. From a young age, it was noticed that had been gifted with mediumistic/psychic skills. In my late teens, I shut down my mediumship. The reason being because no one understood the world I saw. I couldn’t explain things I had already seen and how I knew things, that I couldn’t possibly know. I guess I wanted to be “normal”. But is only when you get older, you learn to accept yourself for who you are. Around 3 years ago (2015), when my Grandmother died; was the time my mediumship started opened back up. Bit by bit, therapies started to pop up. A few months after the funeral, I booked on to a Reiki course — level 1. Which opened my sense up more. The difference this time was I felt ready for it. I joined an open development circle. Went on to do Reiki level 2 and then I was invited into the closed development circle. On top of that, I started to learn spiritual healing. I wanted to know the difference between Reiki and Spiritual Healing. I continued to develop my mediumship and psychic art skills at the Arthur Findlay College, Stansted. My journey didn’t stop there! After Reiki 2, I created a business. Just like that, October, 2015 - Shimmering Light was born. Little did I know, the plans spirit had for me! After 6 months, of being a business I had signed up for my first exhibit at Olympia, April 2016. The one thing about being spiritual, and dealing with energy, is that you never have an idea when your vibration is going to change. In 2016, I was suffering with severe depression and anxiety. I was signed off work for a total of 6 months. I was lost in my own darkness. I focused on the darkness rather than the stars which was showing. Now, I reflect back on it, I find myself wondering if my depression was triggered because I found something I got satisfaction from but I didn’t own it. I felt tied to my Monday - Friday job. I stuck at it because I felt like I had to. Until June 2018, I took the leap of faith. I left that job, with nothing under me. I’m letting the universe catch me. Writing this has given me a little awakening. The more I fought against my soul’s desires the more I fell sick. The stronger my will came to follow what I really wanted to do, I became happier and hardly sick.

Yes, my name is Dexter Moscow! It sounds made up, but the name is on my birth certificate. It certainly would be a great stage name. Although I’ve yet to realise my childhood dream of appearing as a leading man on the silver screen, a considerable amount of my practical selling experience comes from my many years appearing in front of the camera on QVC The Shopping Channel, selling £millions of products for major technology companies and other notable retailers. In addition, for 16 years, I worked behind the camera as their Chief Guest Trainer, coaching and training guest presenters and celebrities to excel at the art of ‘selling on telly’, effectively selling to an invisible audience. This experience of creating a compelling selling proposition informs my approach to sales coaching and communication in the corporate arena. I have also been an estate agent, and my early career was in advertising, working for an agency with Mafia connections. As a speaker, I talk on several topics relating to communication, selling, influence and persuasion and present on TV to corporates at symposiums and conferences. The processes and frameworks I used when coaching others on selling on TV are the same when we seek to communicate our message. I have written a book called Stand Up and Sell that enables those who follow these tried and tested processes to be more effective in their sales and presenting activities. With so much business still being conducted online, which I call this Televisual Age, I am revising my book title to Sit Down and Zoom. As a trained voiceover, I have also been the ‘voice of god’ at award functions. My claims to fame are having popcorn thrown at me by Julia Roberts in Notting Hill, being sworn at by Kate Winslet in Branner’s Hamlet and my life as a background artist. Zanaan Wanaan are Kashmiri words for ‘women speak.’ ZW engages in feminist activism on the ground, produces independent scholarship, supports creative work, and works towards strengthening the women’s movement in Kashmir. ZW’s action-research based approach is rooted in the commitment to upholding principles of peace, equality, and justice. We also work on building transnational feminist solidarities, forging alliances and creating cross-movement conversations. Areas of focus: Producing independent scholarship Engaging in feminist activism and advocacy Promoting civil discourse Encouraging critical inquiry Supporting and platforming Kashmiri women cultural practitioners Fostering creative expression What We Do: ZW is a cross-section of art, academia, media and activism. Our work facilitates, amplifies and advocates for women’s involvement in socio-political discourse. We publish original works in the annual issues in the ZW Journal. These issues are thematic collections of works by Kashmiri women from diverse backgrounds in the form of academic articles, narrative essays, investigative reports, auto-ethnographic accounts, interviews, artworks, photo-essays, video stories, and more. We are a network of women on ground and across the world working collaboratively on interdisciplinary projects ranging from gender based violence, peace and security, climate crisis, public health, and so on. ZW is focussed on women and youth-led activist action through critical initiatives required to build and sustain social change. We support/produce creative and artistic expression for civic action and information dissemination. In addition to this, we conduct capacity-building workshops, film-screenings, provide skill-based training programmes and also introductory courses on research and methodologies to young women as a part of our grassroots collective action.

Hi there! I’m Karen Holmes, manager and owner of Play Academy. In the Summer of 2019, my life took a huge, exciting turn when I took on this wonderful club. Up until then, I had spent 20 years as a very happy & successful Primary School teacher. During my time as a teacher, I had the pleasure of working with many, many children across the primary age range. I also trained as a student mentor and worked alongside trainee teachers supporting & developing practice. In addition to this I was also responsible for the PSHE curriculum across the whole school, an area I am still massively passionate about. Whilst building my career as an educator, I was also bringing up my two gorgeous sons Toby & Zach. Because I was juggling being a mum with being a teacher, I fully understand the desire parents have for quality wrap around care for children; it’s something my husband and I accessed for our two lovely boys during their primary years. As my career progressed and opportunities were being put in front of me, I paused for a bit and realised that teaching was no longer for me. I was spending less and less time doing the things that had steered me into teaching in the first place; planning, creating & facilitating new and fun quality experiences for children. I wanted to get back to just having ‘fun’ with little people, blowing bubbles, building dens, playing boards games, enjoying the outdoors and most of all…….laughing! To allow children a comfortable, home from home space to practise being good citizens, develop key life skills and master the art of a two way conversation.

Stephanie Burgess aka ‘Marina Red’ is an established zine creator and writer from Cheshire. She is one of the original riot grrrls, having played in punk bands throughout the 90’s. She runs her own fanzine and blog riotgrrrlzine.co.uk, which forms part of her postgraduate research into the Spanish alternative music scene, but also covers Riot Grrrl and punk bands from throughout Europe. She is an old skool paper ‘zine creator, who crafts her ‘zines by hand using collage and a mixed-media approach, creating unique pages and art which are highly representative of punk zine culture and influenced by the Washington Hard-Core Riot Grrrl Scene of the early 1990s. In particular, Kathleen Hanna’s Riot Grrrl Manifesto, which was first published in a ‘zine in 1992. She has written for a variety of online music publications, is a published writer and translator, and also runs creative writing and ‘zine production masterclasses. Currently working towards her PhD “In Search of Spain’s Riot Grrrls” for Manchester University, she has over 20 years experience of both academic study of the writers and musicians of the last century. As a hispanophile with an MA in European Languages and Global Cultures, she can draw upon her deep understanding of the function of language within the creative process and has thus developed her own technique for inspiring others to be creative in a similar way.She is an avid fan of alternative music and has an extensive record collection dominated by female musicians. She can still be found most weekends flicking through the vinyls and CD’s at her nearest music shop or dancing her fishnets off at a punk gig!

Bronze is contemporary and yet has strong echoes deep within our evolutionary past. The casting of bronze is a raw and elemental process that can be achieved around a campfire with beeswax and clay or in sophisticated foundries using high tech furnaces and technical materials. At the heart of the process is the transformative slight of hand, like fossilisation where one object becomes another under the influence of extreme heat. Organic materials or wax are replaced by bronze in the casting process, via a combination of intention, earth and fire. Finishing and colouring bronze is equally transformative, raw metal through the crude exposure to the weather, seawater or sophisticated of chemical sequences and heat comes to life with rich, lustrous and intense colours. NEW WORKS I love the physicality of sculpture both of the process and the materials. Before setting up my bronze foundry in 2015 I trained and practiced as a ceramic artist. Working wax, is a visceral process; how I feel in the act of creation and my responses to the emerging piece dictate the outcome. I suspend conscious engagement and hold the sense of where something is going for as long as possible without interpretation. I believe that a work of art can offer a mirror to the soul for both the maker and the observer. How we respond to a work tells us something about ourselves. For this reason I am encouraged to explore new areas of work and challenge the viewer to consider their response to all types of work, paying attention to what they like as much as well as what they find uncomfortable.
