Hi I'm Lisa and I live in the middle of the Test Valley in Hampshire, with my husband, two children, my dog Inca and cat Ebury. After having my son George in 2015 and moving from a city to a village, I decided to put my career in the corporate world on hold and spend time at home being a mummy. This life style change enabled me to explore my creative side. I loved living in a village and joined one of the local village WI groups and their craft club. I also took a number of workshops including blind making and cake decorating. However my love of jewellery, magpie tendencies and previous experience with bead work, soon lead me to the magic of Silver Clay. Once I found Silver Clay I was hooked! My ability and design ideas soon had my teacher suggesting I start a small business. This is how Country Designs by Lisa was born in 2017. All my work is inspired by the country side and nature around me. I love nothing more than going foraging on a dog walk or when out and about with my children and often come back with pockets filled with more items collected on walks than my children! . I love to learn and am continuing to update my skills and over the last few years I have added traditional silversmith techniques to my work. I have also passed my Level 1 and Level 2 Art Clay certificates and i'm currently working towards my Level 3. Gaining Level 1 & 2 enables me to teach under the Art Clay banner, this was very important for me to pass before I started to teach as it gives me the knowledge and skills to teach my students correctly. Most of my range, except some smaller items, are fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office. This is a 700 year old tradition that gives buyers the assurance they are buying a quality item which has been fully tested by the Assay Office. By learning basic skills you can have fun weaving with other natural materials from your garden. We run weaving workshops using the natural world and seasons for inspiration. That thought turned into many a dream over the years, hampered by Covid and the odd change of plan on route ... but in 2022 we finally managed to make this dream a reality! Set on the beautiful Isle of Arran, Scotland (UK) we run a small PADI Dive Resort delivering core courses up to Divemaster plus an eye watering 13 speciality courses. Unlike many other UK operators, we run all our training in the sea - the place where you'll actually spend most of your dives once you certify. This means you'll gain critical experience and skills which many other new divers could only wish for. Being new and part of a small island community please be aware that all of our crew have other jobs and commitments - we always aim to help but may be restricted at times.
