VISION It is our vision that Motion X Dance DC creates a profound connection between the performing arts and the human experience. As a dance company we connect with our audience on a deeper level, offering an emotional experience that encourages community growth and acceptance. Our passion for training young artists is prevalent in our workshops and intensives as we have developed programs that offer a springboard for dancers moving towards a professional career. Through outreach, collaboration, and education we hope to use dance as a way to bring joy to the widest audience possible. Rainford High School opened in 1940 to serve Rainford and the surrounding area. The school has been fortunate to have had a rebuild under the Building Schools for the Future that was opened fully in September 2013. The new building provides an inspiring and modern learning environment for the students and the teachers to focus on learning. The school site has state of the art facilities for Science, Design and Technology and ICT. The new learning environment for Art, Music and Drama will enable our students to produce work of an even higher standard and produce performances the school can celebrate with its community. Facilities such as the immersive space and the “show and tell” area allow teaching and learning to be delivered in a creative, engaging and imaginative way. Flexible teaching spaces are allowing the school to develop an engaging and challenging approach towards teaching and learning. The new canteen and extensive quad allow for an exciting new learning environment that all students can benefit from whilst in lessons or on their own time. Rainford High School is a school for the 21st Century. The school is building on its considerable strengths to become the best school it can possibly be for the young people and the community it serves. Sun Bear Yoga has a key focus on making yoga fun and accessible to all. In this funny old time we believe it's super important to take extra care of our kids and their families' emotional and physical health. Sun Bear Yoga combines yoga, play, fun, dance, drama, music, acro, storytelling, relaxation and mindfulness to nurture positive wellbeing and encourage community support and socialisation (team work- yay). Why is yoga good for kids? It improves concentration and co-ordination, develops body awareness, calms the racing mind and boosts self-esteem and inner confidence. Our mission is to create a space for some much needed time out, fun without distraction, giggles and to provide the opportunity for an emotional reset. We want to give kids and their families the tools to cope better with the daily stressors that come with modern family life. We believe in equality, inclusivity, tolerance, compassion and respect and these values form the foundations of our classes. All of our classes are completely secular and there will be no focus on religion. EVERYONE is welcome. We believe in spreading love and happiness to all. Kindness is our superpower! We offer classes for children 0-16y during term time and we run family yoga events out of term time. Right now our classes go up to 12y but as of September they will be available for 13-16y and we will also have dedicated classes for children with certain additional needs in Autumn 2021.

The team at Blade Education highly values lived experience as a central part of any successful project. We believe that the answers to many issues begin with valuing what members of any community can tell us about what they need for a successful outcome. Wherever possible, we hold lessons, sessions, and events outside. All ages and all kinds of people get involved in Blade Education projects. People have volunteered for us from the age of 8 to 103. From HMS Leigh, a community led heritage and arts project that connected people of all ages with the history of Southend Pier, also known as HMS Leigh, during WW2. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Arts Council and Southend Borough Council, this project was created as part of the VE 75 celebrations in 2020 and survived to be one of the first post pandemic lockdown in person events in September 2021. Our latest project, Southend Safer Care Leavers has developed a free online information service for young people supporting the knowledge already given and ensuring they are ready to take charge of their own health care. Thanks to all our supporters and volunteers from a wide range of organisations and funders, Blade Education for nearly two decades has been able to offer wonderful learning experiences to thousands of children, families, and the general public.
