The Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy evolved from the Lifestream Centre for Psychotherapy, which was founded by Bob Cooke TSTA in September 1987. Bob Cooke was interested in the idea of creating a Therapy centre in south Manchester and saw it as a place where people could come, knowing that they would be attended by skilled Therapists and treated with high regard and with confidence in safety and confidentially. At that time the staff consisted of two full time Therapists, Bob Cooke and June Brereton, and several other part time Therapists. It was through the establishment of this centre in 1987 ,that the Institute has its roots and subsequently its standard of Excellence it is today. Our Beliefs We have a fundamental belief that those who are personally motivated and willing to change will do so, and in so doing inspire the growth of others. Whilst on this path of self-development those who change will enhance the development of their environment. For those working and training at the Institute, personal Therapy and Supervision are a basic requirement, thus ensuring a clear and safe environment for all clients in attendance.

Prepare for an exciting career as a licensed barber. The program is 1000 clock hours in length, which can be completed in as little as eight months of full-time attendance. At the beginning, approximately 450 hours of the program is devoted to technical instruction, which consists of various learning activities in a classroom and barbershop. Students learn the fundamentals of Haircutting, Hair Color Theory, Hairstyling, Shaving, Gentlemen’s Facials, and Infection Control. Once the basics of the novice curriculum are complete, students advance to core training and can start working with clients. The balance of the program time is devoted to advanced practical operations, in which students develop and practice barber skills under the supervision of licensed instructors. After completing the barbering program at Coba Academy, you’ll be qualified to apply for the California State Board licensing examination and become a licensed professional. At Coba Academy our barbering instructors continually strive to train and prepare students for a career in the barbering industry. Introducing the latest techniques for hair styling into the curriculum enhances our students’ training and provides a competitive edge when seeking employment.

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions we receive from parents of our new students: * We are a professional organisation and as such are the premier martial arts association in your area. * Yes, parents do see a marked improvement in concentration levels at school when children have been training with us for a period. * The above classes are for beginner grade children only. * Classes are structured to be fun yet disciplined. We have strict rules regarding fighting / play fighting outside of the classes! * All beginners train in their tracksuit bottoms and t-shirts, they will need a drink of water for during the class. * Our Karate Suits (Gi) cost £35 which includes delivery, white belt & embroidery of Association badge. You do not need to purchase this until you are happy that your child is going to continue their training for the foreseeable future. * Beginner class fees are £26 per calendar month, payable by standing order. We like to encourage students to train as much as possible and even though we only charge for one lesson per week, this fee allows unlimited training in any suitable class, but of course it is up to you how often your child trains! Fees are payable for every month of the year you are a member regardless of attendance. One months’ notice of cancellation in writing is required. * Fees are discounted where more than one direct family members are training! * Please note that once graded to intermediate level students are required to move up a class and train at least twice weekly whenever possible. Monthly fees do increase at Intermediate level. * If for any reason you miss your regular nights training, this can be made up any time at any suitable class within the Association without prior notice! * We do not have Mums, Dads or Guardians in the hall during classes as over the years we have found that children, especially the younger ones tend to join in and enjoy the classes so much more when Mum or Dad aren't looking on. * All Martial Artists no matter how young or old must be licensed! This is a yearly fee, the first year’s licence fee is £27 and includes your Licence & record book, thereafter yearly fees are £22. * All children are taught not to bully and how not to be bullied! Tuesday Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow classes are held at 'autonomous room east' in Dennistoun, Glasgow. A generously sized lounge in an old merchant villa provides a beautiful, unique and calming backdrop for a varying Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow! Sessions are designed to improve strength and flexibility, focus the mind and more importantly, bring a smile to your face! Expect to perfect sun salutations, alignment of core standing and seated postures, as well as exploring peak poses and a juicy savasana! A community based class welcoming all ages and levels. For now, 8 spaces are available so ensure everyone has enough comfortable space around their mat. Class booking + attendance is £7 and can be paid in person or via PayPal with this booking, subject to booking fee. Student Leadership and Voice Provision of opportunities for student leadership is a named intention on the whole-school development plan. In KS3, the Fullhurst Pledge provides all students with opportunities to enhance their leadership skills. In KS4, there are a range of leadership roles students can take on including becoming a sports leader, a peer to peer reading buddy or a prefect In addition to this, there are annual events upon which students lead, for example Anti-Bullying Week, charity events and Student Takeover Day. Prefects From the moment students join Fullhurst, we encourage them to aspire towards becoming a year 11 prefect. Prefects are selected on the basis of reflecting the key values of the school. We expect applicants to have very high attendance with exemplary punctuality, exceptional behaviour records and the highest standards of uniform. Similarly, their conduct in and around the college must be beyond reproach. We ask prefects to represent the school in many ways, including escorting visitors on tours of the site on open evening and parents frequently comment that they are a credit to the college.
