Cyan Clayworks is an artist-run, non profit studio and teaching space. This three hour introductory class is suitable for adult beginners, and will focus on tile making, press moulded dishes and&nbsp;wheel throwing. Each student will be introduced to the basics of throwing; centering the clay, and forming a small vessel each. You will be able to create a small group of unique textured and coloured slip decorated tiles and a pressmoulded dish using one of our moulds.
Limited class sizes with both Fiona and Chris teaching so lots of hands on support! You will be given one to one support while on the wheel.
Your work will be trimmed (wheelthrown pots), fired and glazed ready to collect a few weeks later. You'll be notified by email and will then have a month to collect your pieces.

This is a hands-on, spontaneous and fun workshop where you will learn the basic skills of monoprinting, one of the most versatile forms of printmaking. It produces unique and playful results, making it ideal for anyone new to printing or art.&nbsp;
Build your confidence by learning how to create your own images using simple mark-making, and different textures and techniques to make a unique image as you layer colours, create shapes and texture, adding and removing ink as you go. We start the year with a much-welcome focus on our skincare and wellbeing with this new workshop from The Scottish Soapworks.On this 2.5 hour session, Jenny will take you through the benefits of 3 tried and tested recipes for making:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">a natural antibacterial Tea Tree nail cream</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">an anti-inflammatory, cleansing and invigorating Peppermint and Eucalyptus foot cream, and</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">a calming and relaxing Lavender and Rosemary hand and body cream.</li></ul>You will work with a carrot oil cream base, which is rich in Vitamin C, and have the option of blending up to 3 personal fragrances from a selection of oils including Lemongrass, Orange, Lemon, Lime, Musk or Grapefruit if you prefer.You will take home approximately 375g of hand-blended cream split across 3 beautiful, refillable glass Kilner style jars. On this lino printing taster workshop with Edinburgh artist Suzanne Kemplay, you will explore quick ways of creating simple images of flowers or patterns.
Suzanne will provide pre-made templates&nbsp;to speed up the design process, so that you can quickly&nbsp;move on to practice&nbsp;printing, and to learning the different techniques you can use to produce striking images.
This is a hands-on, practical and fun workshop where you will learn the basic skills of lino cutting and printing, and gain the confidence you need to create beautiful prints at home without the need for expensive equipment.&nbsp;

On this lino printing taster workshop with Edinburgh artist Suzanne Kemplay, you will explore quick ways of creating simple images of flowers or patterns.
Suzanne will provide pre-made templates to speed up the design process, so that you can quickly move on to practice printing, and to learning the different techniques you can use to produce striking images.
This is a hands-on, practical and fun workshop where you will learn the basic skills of lino cutting and printing, and gain the confidence you need to create beautiful prints at home without the need for expensive equipment. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are provided. You will take home all the prints you make, and your lino cut design so you can continue practising at home.
