Value-based selling (In-House)

By The In House Training Company

This workshop will help you create, develop and close business opportunities using a consultative approach and a value-based (not price-led) proposition. Value-based selling means working the way your customer wants to buy, not how you want to sell. It also means: In a transactional sale the customer knows the answer without help from a salesperson (or cannot see why they should choose you), or is prepared to stay with what they have. Customer decision criteria are price and convenience and customers resent time spent with (new) salespeople, mainly because the salesperson adds little or nothing to what the customer already has and just wastes time. In a consultative or value-based sale, by contrast, the customer doesn't know the answer already. The salesperson must take the role of an advisor, not just a 'product promoter'. Customers demand expertise, advice and customisation during the sales process. Often customers insist on multiple meetings with salespeople and others to develop advantages that you can bring and reduce the perceived risk of changing. In this way the salesperson often adds more value than the product or service alone. This very practical workshop will help you use proven strategies and tactics to build, manage and successfully close sustainable business opportunities using a consultative approach and a value-based (not price-led) proposition. This includes: * Increased impact of your new sales conversations, presentations and proposals - leading to faster decisions and increased conversion * Greater confidence, consistency and professionalism throughout the business development process * Enhanced sales questioning skills and techniques, leading to better, faster and more accurate development of customer needs, problems, value and expectations * Improve your people, communication, influence and persuasion skills when approaching, consulting or presenting your services and solutions * How to build value at all points in the customer's buying process through your knowledge, skills and structured approach * Proven ways to gain additional business and referrals from existing customers and contacts, through direct approach and lead generation * Being better able differentiate your firm, your solutions, track-record and expertise clearly and accurately with tailored value statements for each stage and for each opportunity * Overcome and avoid price-based objections, buying criteria and negotiation 1 INTRODUCTION AND KEY PRINCIPLES OF VALUE-BASED SELLING * Introduction and review of pre-course questionnaires - KPIs, personal learning objectives and key principles * The main principles of value-based selling and how they benefit you and the customer * How value-based selling differs from 'transactional' or 'price-based' selling * The stages of the customer's buying cycle - how to identify and work through strategies for each stage * The concept of structured and set-piece selling and proposing * Presentation by participants: Personal sales improvement goals 2 VALUE-BASED SELLING STRATEGIES AND SKILLS * What is value? How can one move away from a price-led agenda? * How to survive and resist price pressure - six techniques * A review of key competencies and skills needed for a value-based approach * Strategies, case studies and examples with discussion and review * Defining your initial value proposition and comparative advantage * How best to established the right level of trust, rapport and credibility * Planning and practice session: Strategy - mapping a value-based sales process. 3 CONNECTING SKILLS * Research before the meeting and the first few minutes - ways to gain instant rapport and setting the foundation for a successful outcome in a first sales call * How to structure an effective first time sales call or meeting - the subtle differences that are important to master * How best to differentiate your solutions and build credibility and enthusiasm early or at the start of the buying process * Overcoming initial buying resistance and relaxing the prospect; gaining rapport, opening the meeting: PBC (purpose-benefit-check) and gaining agreement to proceed * Planning and practice session: Connecting - first meeting with a new contact 4 CONSULTING - BUILDING, DEVELOPING AND INFLUENCING CLIENT NEEDS * Understanding the power of high-impact and third-level questions to influence people based around specific needs and solutions * The importance of body language and other personal communication dynamics when asking questions; empathic listening, run-on questions, drawing out skills, summarising, etc * Creating a 'disturb' approach to creating needs and opportunities and positioning your solutions * Using proven advanced sales questioning techniques with greater skill: Outcome, SPIN and qualification questions * 'Decision-making criteria' - tools to help you develop the relevant criteria with the customer and in doing so progress your sales opportunities more effectively * Planning and practice session: Questioning skills 5 CONVINCING - PRESENTATION AND PERSUADING SKILLS PRACTICE * Substance and style - selecting the right tone and content to engage and enthuse your prospect * Compelling benefits and reducing perceived risk - key messages to deliver * Helping the customer choose your proposition - by being convincing, compelling and credible when you present * Professional and effective presentation skills - with personal coaching and practice sessions * The keys of influence and persuasion and the keys to convincing a new customer to choose you for the first time * Planning and practice session: Role-play in presenting your solution 6 COMMITMENT * Knowing when and how to close for commitment to the next stage in your sales process, plus ways to ask for commitment professionally and effectively * How to isolate, prioritise and answer objections and concerns more openly and accurately, using a consultative not a confrontational approach * Deal more effectively and profitably with price objections and reduce buyer's remorse (which can lead to an 'I want to think about it' reaction and cause delay and inertia) * Key negotiation skills around the closing process - getting to 'yes' * Planning and practice session: Role-play in closing and negotiation skills 7 ASSESSED ROLE-PLAY - FINAL PRACTICE SESSION Live role-plays * There is an option for external participants to be brought in to the live training workshop to take-part in the final assessed role-play or assist with other sessions run during the course. Performance assessment - 'Dragon's Pitch' * The final afternoon of the course is an assessed role-play using a prepared scenario and external 'CEO'. The assessment criteria will be agreed prior to the workshop. 8 WORKSHOP SUMMARY AND CLOSE * Personal action plan and learning summary

Crisis Media Training

5.0(1)

By Cocomms - Coherent Communications

In a world focused on digital media, 24-hour news channels and social channels, it’s really important to communicate with your audience – there are lots of opportunities to do this if you are interviewed by journalists.  There’s the chance to deliver expert comments or take part in in-depth features or give a quote about your business or organisation. The media wants to stay relevant and engaged with its audience and you can play a part in that and talk to your audience. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In our Broadcast Media Training Courses, we will teach you the best ways to share your story, how to answer those difficult questions and present yourself with confidence and style. This means you will capitalise on every opportunity. Our broadcast media and media interview training courses include: CRISIS MEDIA TRAINING BENEFITS  There are many reasons why businesses and organisations suddenly find themselves trending on social media or being talked about in the broadcast media. When something goes wrong, your every move is watched and then commented on online, putting you and your teams under even more pressure.  So if the worst should happen and you find yourself or your company or business suddenly in the public eye, you need to be prepared. We’ll help you learn how to manage your response ensuring clarity and confidence. It’s vital you don’t leave a vacuum for others to fill so let us help you respond effectively. WHY WOULD I EVER NEED CRISIS TRAINING? Brand reputation is the most important asset we have in the digital media age. Audiences want to engage with organisations which have credibility and authenticity. A crisis – not always of your making – can quickly undermine that if it’s handled badly. Communication is at the heart of crisis media training and we can show you how to deal with a wide range of situations, address concerns and criticism and ensure your message reaches audiences under the most pressured circumstances. WHO NEEDS TO ATTEND THE TRAINING? Crisis Media Training isn’t just for the most senior CEO’s or Managing Directors. In order to support the authenticity of your response it’s important the people on the ground can talk to the public. And in the age of social media, if you’re talking to the public, you’re talking to the media. So the people dealing with the crisis are the people who should know how to communicate in a crisis. There are times when the top bosses must talk as they are accountable and are happy to demonstrate that level of responsibility. But the media will also ask to talk to the people handling the problem and we can show them how. HOW DO I BOOK CRISIS MEDIA TRAINING? We can help you create the perfect training to stress test your messaging and make sure you’re ready to deliver your message if you find yourselves unexpectedly in the news. We’ll help you deal with challenging questions and diffuse the most tense of interviews. But our main criteria is that we design the training you want so we’ll work with you to create the perfect course. All you have to do is give one of our friendly team a ring on 0754 533 4269 or email us.info@cocomms.co.uk

M&A Insights for CFOs

By FD Capital

An M&A specialist is a senior CFO with a proven track record of overseeing and implementing mergers and acquisitions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An M&A specialist is a senior CFO with a proven track record of overseeing and implementing mergers and acquisitions. They may be hired on a full-time basis and carry a full CFO workload or can be recruited on a part-time or interim basis to focus on a specific merger or acquisition. This flexibility is ideal for start-ups and SMEs who don’t have the budget to recruit a full external team to oversee an M&A or to hire a full-time CFO. The CFO is a link between both companies engaged in the M&A, acting as the eyes and ears for both the board and CEO. Their financial skills enable them to identify potential M&A opportunities and incorporate risk management into their strategy to get the most value out of their deal. Most companies evolve their approach to mergers and acquisitions organically, especially those who rely on an M&A specialist instead of having a dedicated team that works solely on M&A. The CFO is responsible for considering any potential acquisitions, crunching the numbers involved, and ensuring due diligence. They’ll be responsible for determining the value of a potential M&A and presenting it to the company’s board and leadership team to determine whether to make the purchase. An M&A specialist is responsible for gathering the data – including both positive and negative factors – to present an objective look at the other organisation and the potential value the acquisition could bring. CFOs will spend most of their time getting to grips with the numbers involved, long before presenting the M&A proposal to the board. This exercise also requires them to have real-time insight into their own company’s performance, value, and finances to paint a wider picture. An M&A specialist will take the critical steps of ensuring that the numbers presented to them are correct. CFOs who don’t specialise in M&As will still have the skill set required to oversee the process but may lack the efficiency and unique insight of an M&A specialist. Companies that are exploring the option of a merger or being acquired by another company may also decide to recruit an M&A specialist to prepare their accounting. The organisation will want to ensure they present the correct numbers to get the correct valuation and prevent any delays further in the process if incorrect numbers pop up. Getting on top of the data early can enable CFOs to plan accordingly. Most will want to provide extra time within their strategy for any potential hiccups along the way. Spending more time on the data early on can speed up the process while still ensuring due diligence is met. How to speak in public with Karen Hale - Speak up and be heard

By The Motivation Clinic

An interactive workshop with Karen Hale. Learn how to gain the confidence, skills and techniques to speak up so you can be heard. "There are two types of speakers: Those who get nervous and those who are liars." - Mark Twain Is this you? * Promotions not applied for, jobs roles not tried for, networking events not attended? * Parties avoided, family ceremonies not spoken at, too much left unsaid? * Do you have excellent ideas that get lost in time because you are fearful of voicing them. * Have you missed opportunities because it involves showing up? * Do you stay silent in meetings? * Do you have a brilliant business idea that isn’t being pursued because you know it will involve some kind of networking or public speaking? If the answer to any/most of these is YES, then read on... This workshop is strange by its nature. Why would someone who disliked public speaking, go to a place where they would speak in public? This is why.... Because Karen has analysed what makes a good communicator when speaking informally to people; she has taken those aspects and developed a group of exercises that allows you to use these exact techniques when speaking at networking events and in public. Added to that, Karen provides a smorgasbord of methods on how to control nerves to ensure you communicate at your authentic best. Please note: everybody in the room will be there for the same reason as you! You will be supported and encouraged and will learn how to turn fear into empowerment! About Karen: An empowerment and public speaking coach with over 30 years experience in coaching and advising individuals and business leaders from a diverse range of sectors on effective communication skills. It takes a second to form a first impression about a person. Your body language, clothes, speech and personal presence convey messages about your background, skills and expertise. Karen works with her clients to ensure they make that first impression powerful and authentic so they get remembered for the right reasons. By creating a confident and authentic presence you increase your visibility and your credibility. “Karen is a truly special individual. She made me feel totally at ease and was able to help me stand and speak confidently for the first time and she did that all with huge warmth and a lot of humour.” She fulfils her greatest passion on a daily basis, helping people present themselves to the outside world in the very best way. She has enabled hundreds of people to move on in their life and careers and build their growth, confidence and image. Karen works across a huge spectrum - from CEOs in FTSE 100 companies to Foundation Class university students at UAL coaching presentation skills. She coaches senior individuals and consults to leading global banks, private banks and family offices, advising business leaders and their teams. She is Central School of Speech and Drama trained. Kind words about Karen... I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Karen numerous times over the past 16 years to assist me in my various corporate roles. Karen has always been the person I have turned to first and foremost when I have needed help with my personal brand, presence and communication, helping me develop confidence in public speaking and showing up in front of the camera. A HUGE thank you for Monday – you were wonderful. The feedback we have had has been unbelievable – I can honestly say in all my years in this industry I have never heard such positive comments on every aspect. Karen has an incredible gift of making you feel completely at ease and is able to bring the best out of a person with ease. She is friendly, approachable and warm and I now refer Karen to everybody I know who needs assistance with any type of public speaking, communication and confidence requirement. The results speak for themselves. Highly recommend!
