Task 37 is an international working group which covers the anaerobic digestion (AD) of biomass feedstocks including agricultural residues (e.g. manure and crop residues), energy crops, organic-rich waste waters, the organic fraction of municipal of solid waste (OFMSW) and industrial organic wastes. Anaerobic digestion is carried out in facilities specially adapted for each particular feedstock, or mixture of feedstocks in the case of co-digestion. The main interests are the production of biogas for use directly for heat and power, upgrading of biogas to biomethane, utilisation of biogas/biomethane for electricity grid balancing and high quality digestate that can be used as biofertiliser. Task 37 addresses the whole biogas production chain from feedstock collection and pretreatment to biogas upgrading, biofertiliser application and process chain sustainability.

This means that we are able to meet all your land-based training and assessment requirements. All our instructors are highly qualified and registered with Lantra and our Assessors used are all NPTC qualified. When selecting woods for training people to fell trees we partner up with local landowners who have areas of woodland that have often been neglected and may not be commercially viable for big contracts and machines. Tree are marked up to take out the weakest or worst formed trees thus enhancing the chances of the remaining trees. The brash is normally left in the wood as habitat piles. Often small glades are created giving further opportunity for diversity with woodland species like foxglove, bluebells and wild garlic. The timber is then extracted either for logs or biomass. Occasionally some will be left in the wood as habitat. Because all of our felling is done by hand rather than machine the impact on the wood is minimal and always leaves the woodland in a better condition than before.
