Come and join Supported Loving's Community of Practice for anyone working with people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people delivering relationships and sex education, this can be formally groups or informally within your job role. Working in this area can be challenging but as a community we can grow and learn - there is always something new to learn! Each month we will take a topic to discuss and reflect upon what are the challenges and what has worked/ positive approaches. Each session will include a case study to explore , a section where we share our favourite resources to use on this topic and space to discuss our practice surrounding this topic. Course Contents of the shorter course: * What is ASD * Autism and Asperger's Syndrome * Understanding those on the Spectrum * How to approach and help those on the Autistic Spectrum * Great for teachers and TAs in schools, and for those working in care with older people with ASD BENEFITS OF THIS SHORT COURSE: * About 1% of the population is thought to be on the Autistic Spectrum * That is several children per nursery and primary school and a significant amount of young people in secondary schools * Many with Asperger's Syndrome will also go to university * The way they experience the world is very different to 'neuro-typical' people * Understanding their condition helps to support them and give them the best chance

Speakeasy is a free course for parents and other caregivers of autistic children and young people, aged up to 18 years old, living within Conwy and Denbighshire.  A programme of six sessions. Mondays 6pm to 8pm. We will be delivering the course online.  Discussing growing up, relationships, and sex with your autistic child can be a challenging yet essential aspect of parenting. Our Speakeasy course is designed to guide you through these conversations; join us for a course designed to address the specific needs of parents with autistic children and young people, supporting you to talk with your child about growing up, relationships and sex. The course will cover: * What is relationships and sex education and what it means for you * Growing up and puberty * Online behaviour * Protecting children from harm * Safer sex * Relationships and sexuality education (RSE) in school The course offers a flexible and relaxed way to gain greater confidence in an area that can cause embarrassment and awkwardness for families with children of all ages. The programme is particularly suited to parents and caregivers of autistic children and young people as we can explore key concerns, adapt resources to different needs and work as a group on maximising strengths and problem solving.  Eligibility: Are you a parent or other caregiver of an autistic child/children? Join us for a thought-provoking webinar addressing a critical oversight in support services for victim/survivors of intimate violence. Many existing services overlook the unique needs of neurodivergent individuals, resulting in limited access to meaningful support. In this session, we'll be joined by Dr Amy Pearson exploring a project focused on understanding the support and recovery needs of autistic adults who have endured intimate violence and abuse. Sharing insights from this research and discuss practical strategies for organisations to better support survivors and prevent future incidents of intimate violence and abuse. Additionally, we'll introduce a co-produced resource designed to empower survivors.

The menopausal transition is a natural part of development for people with ovaries, but it can be challenging. Menopause involves changes in your body, but it also affects your emotions and thought processes. It can be particularly challenging for those who struggle to cope with unpredictable change, like autistic people. In this webinar, Rose Matthews and Rachel Moseley will draw on lived experience and research to talk about menopause from a neurodivergent angle. Why might it be more challenging for neurodivergent people - and what can they do to empower themselves during this life stage?
