 Fairy House Workshop - a wonderful two day workshop for majickal adults ( min age 16yrs)  In The first session we teach you how to create your own pottery Fairy House, returning on the second session a couple of weeks later to glaze/ colour your piece after it’s been bisque fired.  We will take you through the project step-by-step, to create your dream fairy house with moulds, stamps and free-hand making. Using all of your fairy imagination 🧚 During your return session, two weeks later, your pieces will have been fired ready for you to glaze. Glazing is the process of painting on different coloured effects ready for your piece to return back into the kiln and the finished creation will be ready to collect  approx 3 weeks later. Your finished piece could have the addition of an led light when you take it home, so you will see if the fairy folk have moved in ❣️ We’re so excited to share this wonderful, creative workshop with you x dust off your fairy wings and get out your wands ready for a majickal experience.  Suitable for clay newbies and those wishing to expand their handbuilding ceramics skills. Carole Sender. Proud to have been a Contestant in BBC 2′s  Great Pottery Throwdown 2017 Carole’s interest in ceramics began more than 30 years ago. The manager of a retail shop in London, selling studio ceramics and handmade crafts, she would tour the country, visiting remote, rural studios and ordering ceramics for the store. Carole went on to study interior design and worked for a number of years in an architectural practice as a designer. FINE ART MEETS CERAMICS However, her passion for pottery and ceramics was reignited in the 1980s, when she gained a City and Guilds Ceramics qualification at Kingsway College, London and followed this with A Foundation Art Diploma and Degree level study at the University of Hertfordshire in Fine Art. SHARING OF IDEAS Clay with Carole was borne out of Carole’s love to teach and pass on her knowledge to others. She feels strongly that studying ceramic art is an ongoing, rich, and fascinating process and that the learning process is one of mutual communication and the sharing of ideas.

Cyan Clayworks is a working ceramics studio and social enterprise, where we make tableware (Chris) and sculptural handbuilt vessels (Fiona). Both of us have been working in ceramics since the mid 1990s, making work for exhibition, teaching, working in community settings, and undertaking commissions. At the studio we offer regular courses for adults, bespoke workshops, and individual tuition. We have also worked with professional artists, designers and students. Other services include a membership for keen amateurs who want to access the studio to make work untutored. All services must be booked in advance. Visitors are welcome (but strictly by appointment only); get in touch to arrange a visit.

Pippa has always chosen lovely locations for her courses – stately homes, gorgeous galleries, magnificent museums, high-class hotels – but many of these events sadly had to be postponed during the covid-19 crisis. However, many of these courses are now available as live online workshops – made possible by posting out a parcel of specialized materials in advance of the session. We have found that in the midst of lockdown and isolation these events provide an amazing and uplifting experience – spending time with like-minded creatives, sharing learning & laughter, and socializing over a cup of tea or coffee! As restrictions are lifted and it is possible to host venue-based workshops we will be offering smaller, covid-secure events with strictly limited numbers of guests…
